"Love's Wings"
An article in National Geographic several years
ago provided a penetrating picture of Love's Wings.
After a forest fire in Yellowstone National Park, forest rangers began
their trek up a mountain to assess the inferno's damage. One ranger
found a bird literally petrified in ashes, perched statuesquely on the
ground at the base of a tree.
Somewhat sickened by the eerie sight, he approached to knock over the
bird with a stick. When he gently struck it, three tiny chicks scurried
from under their dead mother's wings.
The loving mother, keenly aware of impending disaster, had carried her
offspring to the base of the tree and had gathered them under her wings,
instinctively knowing that the toxic smoke would rise. She could have
flown to safety but had refused to abandon her babies. Then the blaze
had arrived and the heat had scorched her small body, the mother had
remained steadfast.
Because she had been willing to die, those under the cover of her wings
would live.
Perhaps this story can remind you of all those people that have, and do,
love you.
And if your belief system includes a benevolent, loving Spiritual
Lifeforce, perhaps you will remember the availability of that love as
well.
As I read the above moving story, I thought to myself, how wonderful it
would be if we humans learn to love from animals.
What happened to us? Why some of us kill and rejoice over other
people's sorrow?
Why some of us are so filled with hate?
Why we let ourselves to be manipulated by a lie, divide the children of
God into "us" and "them" and can't see that we are one
people?
What god is this that demands beheading, bombing and terror and rewards
the most beastly deeds? What god is this that sent a war monger, a hate
monger, a mass murderer, a lecher, a pedophile and an assassin as a
messenger to us? Was he a good example to follow? What god is this that
would burn humans sadistically for billions and trillions of eons, for
eternity and make them drink boiling water? The very thought of that is
sickening. How can we let ourselves to be fooled by this blatant lie
invented by a psychopath? Even if such deity existed, would he deserve any
respect? These are all satanic deed. Why worship the Satan?
Let us learn to love from animals. No animal kills his own kind for an
ideology. No animal harbors such intense hate that would commit suicide to
kill the objects of his hate. Are we even less than animals?
For how long we should continue with this insanity? For how long we
want to keep our heads deep in the sand and pretend not to see, not to
hear and not to understand? How many more people should die until you
realize that Muhammad lied and wake up from your slumber?
Thank you little bird for teaching us humans how to love. May you find
joy in the paradise and fly happily over the tallest trees. If there is a
paradise no one deserves to be there more than you.
