Death Penalty For Leaving Islam: Afghanistan

J. Grant Swank, Jr.
2006/03/20

This news is just out: Christian faces beheading because he moved from Allah to Christ.

The US is liberating Afghanistan.

But Afghanistan still rules under the sharia—the legalistic, murdering / maiming verses in the Koran. There is no friendliness toward Christians. Allah has explicit statements concerning Islamics who leave Mohammed’s Allah for the Bible’s Christ. The end is death for the Christian.

Therefore, I wonder what in the name of religious freedom we are doing in Afghanistan after all? I suppose it’s the Christian thing to do—help our enemies and leave the rest to God. So if that’s the way I as a Christian am to conclude it, then I hand it over to the good Lord who sees through his own rule of eternal justice balanced with mercy.

Anyhow, in Kabul there’s a 42-year-old Abdul Rahman who testifies to Christ as Lord and Master. Now get this bloody contradiction: The judge informs media that no religious discrimination is permitted in the country. However, since the country is based upon sharia, converting to Christ from Allah equals the death penalty?

Make sense of that one and I’ll mail you a free Bible.

We have met the devil and he is Muslim. All around the world this is so. And the more time moves on, the more the skeptical will realize this to be the bottom line truth.

Hug a Muslim and you hug the one who is bound by Allah to stab you, the infidel, in the back. It is not a crime. It is a pious act. In fact, Islamics are the most righteous on Earth for whatever they do in the name of Allah—rape, murder, thievery, plundering, blowing up babies, tying suicide belts to their children—is not criminal but spiritual excellence.

I tell you again: the more time moves along, the more the skeptic will understand that we have met the devil and he is the devil.

Christianity has the Good Shepherd, the Good Samaritan, the Love Chapter of I Corinthians 13, Jesus washing His disciples’ feet and telling them to be first in His kingdom by serving others. We have a Savior hanging on the cross to save us from our sins when we repent. We have the Lord who has told us that when we die believing in Him we enter heaven’s gates. We have His counsel to love our enemies, do good to those who are mean to us. We have His teachings to be peacemakers, love the unlovely and befriend the friendless.

Because of Christ we have Christians who built hospitals, clinics, schools, shelters, inner city missions. We have Christian professors, evangelists, medical professionals, social workers, and instructors. We have Mother Teresa. We have Billy Graham. We have saints and prayer warriors. We have humble server-givers in the name of Jesus.

None of this can be found in Islam, None. It is slice and dice for Allah. No wonder his symbol is the sword.

Therefore, am I shocked to read that this Christian in Afghanistan could be beheaded by pronouncement of a judge? No. I’m incensed. I am also driven to intercede for the judge’s soul and the soul of the country.

It is so interesting that wherever Muslims migrate today they take full advantage of the free nations’ liberties, including freedom of religion. But in a Muslim country, forget it. Be an Allah-devotee in a Muslim country or lay your neck on their Koran-blessed block.

Again: we have met the devil and he is Muslim.

Disagree with me if you will. In time you will realize this to be the frightening fact facing the planet. We have bird flu, tsunamis, earthquakes and AIDS. But the fiercest plague to strike the entire world right now is the spread of the killing cult known as "Islam."

According to AP, "Afghanistan's constitution is based on Sharia law, which states that any Muslim who rejects their religion should be sentenced to death.

"’We are not against any particular religion in the world. But in Afghanistan, this sort of thing is against the law,’ the judge said. ‘It is an attack on Islam. ... The prosecutor is asking for the death penalty.’"
