Bin Laden Offers a Deceptive Truce

The rumors of Bin Laden’s demise were proven premature with the
release of another al Qaeda diatribe about how Islam is winning the war
and, oh, by the way: How about a truce?
As translated, bin Laden has come to
this conclusion: “The
wise ones know that Bush has no plan to achieve his alleged victory in
Iraq.” Gosh, where might he
have heard that statement? Anyone
with the slightest understanding of Islam can read from this single
statement that despite the daily suicide bombers who foolishly think they
are sprinting to paradise and 72 virgins, al Qaeda is getting its Islamic
behind kicked in Iraq.
Bin Laden would never even mention the word “truce” if that
were not the case. Westerners
recognize the word truce as a cessation of hostilities to hammer out a
peace agreement or perhaps to gather and tend to the wounded.
There were even occasions such as Christmas when both sides decided
a break for the holiday was in order.
To Muslims, the word truce means:
time to re-group, re-arm, re-supply, re-deploy, and then attack
without warning any enemy stupid enough to accept a truce with Muslims.
Sounding like a speech that could have been made by Senators
Kennedy or Schumer, bin Laden continues:
“To go back to where I started, I say that the results of the
poll satisfy sane people and that Bush's objection to them is false.”
The simple translation of that line is:
Bush lied. Sound
familiar? It should.
It has been said by almost every powerful Democrat in Washington.
Bin Laden drones on with this remarkable admission of guilt:
“Reality testifies that the war against America and its allies
has not remained confined to Iraq, as he claims.”
There you have it, al Qaeda’s admission of guilt in the deaths of
innocent civilians in London, Madrid, and Bali.
The fact is that there have been no further attacks HERE in America
as bin Laden has repeatedly promised.
Always giving himself an escape clause, bin Laden claims that if
there is not a successful attack here in the United States, it must be
“God’s will.” Muslims
always have an excuse for failure and that excuse is always, “It was not
Allah’s wish.” Then can
one flip that phrase over and claim that it was God’s will that
Americans not die at the hands of cowardly Islamics who target children?
Perhaps the air in bin Laden’s cave is foul or he is getting a
tad senile but his recollections of how he and his merry band of killers
drove the Soviets out of Afghanistan seems to be a little clouded.
Bin Laden fondly reminisces about the good old days of war and
death when he says, “We have been tolerant for 10 years in fighting the
Soviet Union with our few weapons and we managed to drain their economy.
They became history, with God's help.”
Osama seems to have forgotten that it was not with God’s help
that the Soviets were defeated; it was with the weapons supplied by the
United States.
Interestingly, bin Laden expounds on the terrible things Americans
are doing to the innocent Iraqi people.
According to this man who has declared that babies are legitimate
targets for his men, Iraqi women are taken hostage instead of their
husbands and drills are used on prisoner’s joints.
This charge is quite laughable when it is put next to the letter
intercepted from bin Laden’s next in line, Al Zawahiri to Iraqi al Qaeda
leader-in-waiting Abu
Musab al-Zarqawi. Zawahiri
cautions Zarqawi not to kill so many Iraqi women and children--it just
looks bad. He urges him to be
more careful because the Muslim world is not pleased with the death toll
of fellow Muslims and Zawahiri cautions that the Iraqi people may turn on
al Qaeda instead of the evil infidel Americans.
Obviously as confused by the American polls as the leftist are, bin
Laden proclaims that “the U.S. opinion polls,
which indicated that the overwhelming majority of you want the withdrawal
of the forces from Iraq, but he objected to this desire…”
How many times have the far-leftists declared the war in Iraq lost
and that our broken, beaten troops should all be withdrawn now?
A poll taken by CBS in December, the same month this bin Laden tape
is said to have been made, only 28% of the American people wanted the
troops completely withdrawn and Iraq left to the terrorists.
Perhaps the abandonment of Iraq is just wishful thinking for both
the leftists and bin Laden.
