Debate with ff.com part 2

Dear Mr Sina,

This is our last reply before we get back on track,

"Islam is divisive and causes hate" you say. Allow me to recall for you "The Golden Age" in which Muslims ruled over Jewish and Christian minorities in a totally "Islamic" way and all communities prospered. In Damascus we have a Mosque and a Church built side by side. For the last 1400 years in Damascus, with the one exception, Muslims and Christians have got along with each other perfectly. Muslims have always given Christians total freedom of religion as the Quran demands. Palestinian Christians and Muslims also get along fine. In Arafat's cabinet we have a Christian-female who is for the "Palestinian" (note Palestinian and not Muslim) cause. Although the Taliban were totally wrong in the treatment of their own people even within their normally unsympathetic nature we saw compassion as they allowed the minority Hindu and Sikh communities to practice their religion. All so-called Muslim nations, apart from the corrupt kingdom of Saud allow total freedom of religion; it is the greatest lie of them all to say they don't.

Once again Mr Sina, I wish to remind you that bad politics plays a very big part in the so-called Islamic world. The manufactured kingdoms and dictatorships with their own ideals are a bruise to Islam. Both the kingdoms and dictatorships stand in the way of a true Islamic state (the likes of which we haven't seen for over 500 years). This is the "freedom" Bin Ladin was after, as I'm sure your fully aware. Islam brought the world light, a sense of direction, scientific advances, revolution and innovation; your saying that it should be banned because a few oppressed people are using it as an excuse to justify the unjustifiable is simply outrageous. How can a belief which testifies "There is only one God and Mohammed was one of his messengers" be banned! Mr Sina even without the Quran we have Islam! The likes of you with your incredibly distorted view of Islam like to "dictate" the way in which Muslims should live. As long as you carry this attitude you will not get any respect.

Scattered across the Internet we have hundreds of websites which have the sole aim of clearing up the many misconceptions and myths concerning Islam. Some of these people devote a life times work in order to explain the verses which you claim preach violence towards the so-called infidel (which you shamefully portray as any non-Muslim) yet you pay no heed. It's not a case of you being correct and them being incorrect. Rather it is a case of you being incompatible with their reasoning. You say so far no Muslims have "won" a debate with you and that this clearly indicates you are correct. Then you rather ridiculously ask Muslims to leave their faith for they obviously are misguided! Such a statement makes the average Muslim chuckle rather than respond to you. I put it to you Mr Sina, you are very low on the thought list of Islamic scholars. Your articles, for the vast majority of scholars, are nothing but rants.

I will say it again, without hesitation, you have the not so special ability of drawing in the inherently uninformed masses since you appeal to their emotional and psychological state. Many of your readers log on to the Internet to find your anti-Muslim sentiment, thus their minds were made up already. It's not enough for you that there are already countless websites on the Internet which refute your kind of absurdity. You expect a "personal" address, and this is the duty we have undertaken.

Dear team of ff.com site

You spoke of the “Golden Age” of Islam. Please know that the stars of that golden age were men that did not believe in Islam and were branded as apostates by Islamic scholars. Ar Razi called the prophets billy goat bearded charlatans and Bu Ali Sina was condemned as heretic by Al Qazali. Khayyam who was not just a great poet but also a great mathematician mocked all concepts of Islam such as paradise and predestination and the same could be said about Ibn Rushed and other freethinkers of Islam

The fact that these men could speak so freely in Islamic countries is proof that the rulers in those days were not under the power of the Mosque and therefore allowed people freely to criticize even Islam. This is precisely the reason that during the Middle ages Islamic countries were more advanced and contributed to science. At the same time Europe was being strangled in the grips of a repressive Church, which explains why the middle Ages of Europe are called dark Ages.

Now it is ironic that you want to take credit for the contribution of the very men that did not believe in Islam and were dejected as heretics by the Muslims clerics. This is as ridiculous as the Church taking credit for Galileo, Copernicus and Jordano Bruno.

I would like to see those Golden Ages back. I would like to see my country and all Islamic countries that are now in the grips of poverty and ignorance shine once again and the only way that is possible is to weaken Islam and let the freethinkers flourish.

Is preaching Christianity allowed in Islamic countries? Can a Muslim convert to Christianity with impunity?

It is true that in many instances the Muslim inhabitants of a country were not strict with the religious minorities and occasionally the minorities enjoyed certain freedoms. But those were the exceptions to the rule. In most cases when the Mullahs were powerful and Islam dominated the minds of the people, as is today in most Islamic countries, the minorities were persecuted. The ground for these persecutions has always been what Quran teaches and especially the Surah Towba (9). The example that Muhammad laid is also part of the problem. He invaded town after town and looted their properties, killed their men and enslaved and sold their women and children. He imposed a 50% levy on the Jews of Kheibar and set the antecedence for his followers to violate the rights of the minorities. This is as far as the people of the book are concerned. As for the atheists and polytheists there are no rights in Islam. They must be put to death and there is no question about it.

Is this a joke?

You wrote,
“Islam brought the world light, a sense of direction, scientific advances, revolution and innovation; your saying that it should be banned because a few oppressed people are using it as an excuse to justify the unjustifiable is simply outrageous.”

Can you point out to the “sense of direction, scientific advances and innovations in Quran”? All I see in Quran is a hodgepodge of nonsense, a medley of gibberish, and grotesque errors. It is an insult to human intelligence to claim that this book of baloney contributed to the advancement of science. Yes Quran gave to its followers a sense of direction. All cults give to their followers a sense of direction but that direction was towards perdition, hate, bigotry, barbarity, poverty, discrimination, violence, misogyny, human rights abuses and terrorism. Can you argue with me that the above does not portray all Islamic countries and to the extent that those countries identify their polities with Islam these qualities are more accentuated?

I am not saying that Islam should be banned. I disagree strongly with banning any ideology even if it is neo Nazism or Islam. I believe when Islam is exposed there will be so few people who would call themselves Muslims that Islam would no more be an issue. If Islam were weakened to the extent that Nazism is today, it would represent no threat to anyone. Few nut cases will probably remain Muslims even then but Islam would be defanged. (I actually believe that since the Islamic nut cases are invigorated by the force of the numbers and not by any ideology, after Islam is weakened it will die and no trace of that will be left. The nut cases will find another stupid belief to cling to)

“How can a belief which testifies "There is only one God and Mohammed was one of his messengers" be banned”

These are two lies. You can keep these lies to yourself but you are not to impose them on others. There is no proof that Allah is God and also that God exists.

Even if there is a God and Allah is God, Muhammad cannot be his messenger for what he said in Quran and the way he comported disqualify him as a sane and decent human being let alone as a messenger of God. Why should God choose a murderer, an assassin, a pedophile, a highway rubber, a womanizer sex pervert to carry his message to humanity? This simply does not make sense.

“Scattered across the Internet we have hundreds of websites which have the sole aim of clearing up the many misconceptions and myths concerning Islam”

Why is it that there are so many “misconceptions” about Islam? Why we do not have misconceptions about any other religion such as Christianity, Judaism, Hinduism, Buddhism, Baha’i, Zoroastrianism, etc?  Why is it that ONLY Muslims are trying hard to clear the misconceptions while the members of other religions simply are teaching their Faiths and there is no question of misconceptions? Of course the only misconceptions that exist about other religions are the lies that the Muslims have told  about them, such as Christ did not die on the Cross, Zoroastrians are fire worshippers and Baha’is are … Oh I heard so much lies about Baha’is that I don’t know where to start.

I ask the Muslims to rethink their devotion to Islam and the psychologically impared Muhammad. I ask them to read the Quran and meditate on it. Read the hadith. Could possibly a messenger of God be so vile, so violent and so brutal as was Muhammad? Could possibly God be so ignorant of science and devoid of understanding as it appears to be from the Quran? Why should we insist to follow a man who was so depraved as was Muhammad? Isn’t the deplorable state in which our people find themselves the consequence of us following a crazy narcissist man?

“Some of these people devote a life times work in order to explain the verses which you claim preach violence towards the so-called infidel (which you shamefully portray as any non-Muslim) yet you pay no heed”

If what I say was not true there would be no need for hundreds of websites and so many people devoting their life times to explain them. The reason so many people are trying so hard and still fail is because they have undertaken an impossible task. Quran is a misogynist book. No amount of explanations can change that. Quran is a book that orders the murder of innocent people on the ground that their religion is not right. How much explanations do you think can change that?

No sir, I do pay heed but I make no distinction between the “people of the book” and those who do not believe in any God or believe in a multitude of gods. To me a human being is a human being. His religion and beliefs are not of my concern, his freedom, his dignity and his life are.  If you believe that those violent verses of Quran are meant only for the atheists and not the Christians and the Jews and therefore it is okay then perhaps you should save the adjective “shameful” for yourself.

“Then you rather ridiculously ask Muslims to leave their faith for they obviously are misguided! Such a statement makes the average Muslim chuckle rather than respond to you. I put it to you Mr Sina, you are very low on the thought list of Islamic scholars. Your articles, for the vast majority of scholars, are nothing but rants. .“

There is nothing new in what I say. These questions have remained unanswered for 1400 years. So far the only way Muslims responded to these criticisms were assassinations, executions and imprisonments.  Now that they can no more do so, they "chuckle". Please tell them when they finish chuckling try to respond.

Kindt regards

Ali Sina
