Suffering by Design

Mr. Sina, It has been a long time I have been waiting for an article like ” The Science of Prayer and the secret of performing miracles” But unfortunately, it did not answer my question which I have been struggling to solve for a long time.
We all are facing some problems which sometimes seems unreasonable to us. Things happen which is not supposed to. Most of the times We do things implying our conscious rational brain, planning not to harm any one, deceiving no one even though the result becomes very opposite. Before we jump in to action, we whole heartily desire, use our will, pray sincerely, ask His companionship in every step of the procedure and at the end Bingo…
Some hidden force takes away all our dreams put us in a great tribulations and leave us in a desert. I bet you have this bitter experience as you have mentioned, I am personally is one of this statistics also and going through this for the last 5 years. I prayed, cried, asked, did seek but what was I missing ? I don’t know !!
You cited from Mark, Here is my question : I asked, I used my will, I did seek and more over I firmly believed, now why I am in the street and why no one around me came up with a penny ? What did I do wrong ? I even asked this question million time to Him ” Lord, please at least let me know what did not I do that you have asked me to do, why then ?
Finally, Before I started the venture, before signing the documents I asked / prayed “God, if it is good for me and for my family please let me sign, if not, let me have a way to get out.” After that sincere prayer, I SIGNED, and here I am, in a victim of $20 million corporate greed which put me in a financial condition where every day I have to think at least thrice to spend a $1.
Any logical answer ?Mr. Sina, can you please share with me if I can’t proceed with my will in life how will I evolve myself. If God’s will supersedes my will why He allowed me to have a will ? Is there any reason for this suffering ? I know you have mentioned in some other article that the causes of suffering is to grow our-self. If that is so, then are all these sufferings determined ? If it is, then what is the purpose of having my will ? If we are part of God why then my will/desire will not be satisfied by his love ?
I know these are very acute and delicate questions. Since you seem to be on the same boat I just want to get a clue of these as I am stuck in the middle.
God helps.
Regards,
Monir
Dear Monir,
I wish I had an answer to these and many other questions. Since I accepted God I have not ceased praying for understanding and the only understanding I have received is the discovery of the vastness of my ignorance. Surely God has a sense of humor. But like you and others I want to know the truth and keep searching.
The truth is hidden to us for some reason. We are immersed into this world of virtual reality and shut off from actual reality. What I have learned both from NDE and quantum physics is that this world is only a facet, a cross section of reality. And therefore, it is impossible for us to grasp the full reality. We will never find the truth by observing and measuring the physical world. That is why science can never provide the full answer. Reason also is inadequate because it relies on known facts and since most facts are unknown, we can never find the truth through reason. All we can do is share our thoughts and exchange views. Maybe together we can find a more satisfactory answer. But it won’t be the correct answer. So I share my two cents, not because I think I have found the truth, but because I want the dialogue continue.
I look at the world and all I see is suffering. All humans suffer. All animals suffer. We come to this world only to suffer. We all struggle to find a moment of peace, a trice of relief, an instant of happiness in a life long of adversity. Nothing in life seems to be easy, from birth to death. Apparently death, according to those who experienced it is actually easy. They said they did not even feel it. The only thing they felt was immense joy. All pains ended, all worries dissipated, everything made sense and tremendous peace descended on them. The problems with which they were struggling seemed insignificant and meaningless. So clearly, this world is the place of suffering. True peace is found only in the next world.
In one story of NDE a woman who committed suicide said, when she put the gun on her head she heard a voice telling her to aim her heart instead. She did but missed the target. When she left her body she encountered Jesus who was furious. He strongly rebuked her and told her that life is not supposed to be easy. He told her that she has to go back and live her life and try to choose joy in the midst of suffering.
The message I get from this story is that suffering is intentional. It seems to be the purpose of life. We come here to suffer while doing our best to remain joyful. In other words God says, I want you to go down in the world, and I will make sure your life is filled with hardship while at the same time I want you to smile through it all, be joyful and grateful in the midst of adversities. And for some reason we agree with this seemingly unfair deal and take up the challenge.
Why we do that? Why even bother to come to this world of pains? Heaven is quite a comfortable place. Why any sane person would want to leave such a place of bliss and come down to this world just to suffer? Obviously, it is by coming to this world and by overcoming its difficulties that we can grow spiritually. We don’t come here to have fun. Life is not supposed to be easy. We come here to face hardship, while striving valiantly to overcome them and remain joyful in the midst of tribulation. How else can we develop our spiritual limbs? If you don’t strain your muscles how else can you make them strong?
I understand what you went through because I too had a similar life experience, not once but several times. Every time I thought I was close to the shore, a new wave dragged me back into the midst of the ocean of tribulations. While these experiences were difficult and painful, they taught something. Unjust people taught me forgiveness. Cruel people taught me compassion. Hardships taught me patience. Tribulations taught me forbearance. Losses taught me gratitude for what I have. Hate taught me love, and so on and so forth.
Once we die, this world, all its glamor and all its problems become insignificant. We suddenly realize this was a world of make belief. Nothing is real here. It is all a game. Imagine you buy the game of monopoly for your children to learn decision making, problem solving, strategizing, risk taking, and dealing with difficult situations. They become excited and get immersed in the game. You then deliberately make things harder on them. They lose and they get frustrated. Your goal is not to make them suffer. You want to make them learn how to face difficulties and think their way out of problems. Sometimes you make them lose. They have to start from scratch. While they may get angry at you, you do this out of love for them, for you know that winning and losing this game is totally irrelevant. The only thing that matters are the skills that they can acquire by playing the game. And while you make it difficult to play, you insist that they should have fun. The game will be over in no time and whether they amassed millions of paper money or lost it all is all irrelevant. It’s only a game. Its money is worthless. But its lessons are precious. This world is also a game. Its losses and its victories are meaningless. The only thing that matters is how much spiritual qualities you acquire while here. The experiences are what you carry to the other world not the material wealth or worldly successes.
Because understanding this is important to understand the purpose of life let me make another example. Let us say you want to hire a group of pilots. But they need training. So you set up a training school equipped with a simulation cockpit. The students enter the cockpit and practice how to take off, how to steer, how to land and how to deal with various incidents. The lessons are at first easy, but gradually you increase the level of difficulty. You wait until they master one situation and as soon as they get hold of it, you introduce a bigger one, unexpectedly. During the course of their training they face nothing but difficulty and apparently life threatening situations. Would it be fair that they get angry at you for not letting them enjoy the simulation? The goal of the training is not to enjoy the simulation. The goal is that they become skillful pilots. You know that they are safe. Even if they crash and the simulation is over, nothing bad happens to them. If they have mastered the skills, you will hire them and if not they can apply again to come back and take the course one more time, or as many times as they want.
Coming to this world is very similar. We volunteer to come, to face hardships, and here is a short list of lessons we need to learn.
assertiveness caring commitment compassion confidence consideration cooperation courage courtesy creativity detachment determination diligence enthusiasm excellence flexibility forgiveness |
friendliness generosity gentleness helpfulness honesty honor humility integrity joyfulness justice kindness love loyalty moderation modesty patience |
peacefulness perseverance purposefulness reliability respect responsibility self-discipline service tact thankfulness tolerance trust trustworthiness truthfulness understanding unity |
Al these are needed in the spiritual world but they cannot be learned there. That is why God created this virtual world. Everything here is simulation. All problems are designed for us to learn these spiritual lessons. Success is not measured by how comfortably we live, but how much of the above skills we learn. Take the example of joyfulness. Anybody is joyful in heaven, where love permeates everything and no soul faces difficulty, loss or fear. God wants us to choose joy when we are immersed in difficulties. The same can be said of all other virtues.
I want to share the following video. It shows a homeless man who gives away all his possession to a stranger because he claims his daughter is sick and needs medication. This homeless man is wealthy. I watched it several times and every time my eyes are filled with tears for I know that he is superior to me. When we all leave this world and the veil is removed from our eyes, our real ranks become clear and you’ll see this man’s rank is much higher than kings and presidents. Don’t get fooled by the glitter of this world. This world is just a game.
Be grateful in hardship and thank the Lord for giving you yet another challenge to overcome and another opportunity to grow spiritually. Once you leave this world you’d be grateful for all the problems you faced here and you’d wish you had more. Hardships are blessings in disguise. The goal is to bring you closer to God, to make you patient, and choose joy in the midst of misfortune.
An important lesson we come here to learn is to believe. You cannot learn to believe while in heaven because everything is known to you. Belief is the ability to accept things that are invisible to us. Belief is the secret behind miracles. Once you learn to believe, you can perform miracles. This is a faculty that only big souls possess. So take advantage of the hardship and believe that God has something better in store for you. Leave everything in His hands. Let your heart be at peace and confident that God is with you and He will not abandon you for you are His beloved child. Then watch miracles happen. Once that happens you know you have made it. You have become a miracle maker and a superior soul.
And this is a prayer for all those who feel beat and broken, and can’t find their way.
Historic American War-Crimes = Christian & Jewish War-Crimes On Non-Believers!!!
=====================================================================
“In the early 1950’s, during the Korean War, the U.S. dropped more bombs on North Korea than the U.S. had dropped in the entire Pacific Theater during World War II.
This carpet bombing, which included 32,000 tons of napalm (i.e., Chemical Weapons), often deliberately targeted civilian as well as military targets, devastating the country far beyond what was necessary to fight the war.
Whole cities were destroyed, with many thousands of innocent civilians killed and many more left homeless and hungry…
According to U.S. journalist Blaine Harden: “Over a period of three years or so, we killed off — what — 20 percent of the Korean population,” Air Force Gen. Curtis LeMay, head of the Strategic Air Command during the Korean War, told the Office of Air Force History in 1984.
Dean Rusk, a supporter of the war and later the U.S. Secretary of State, said the United States bombed “everything that moved in North Korea, every brick standing on top of another.”
After running low on urban targets, U.S. bombers destroyed hydroelectric and irrigation dams in the later stages of the war, flooding farmland and destroying crops…
“On January 3 at 10:30 AM an armada of 82 flying fortresses loosed their death-dealing load on the city of Pyongyang…
Hundreds of tons of bombs and incendiary compound were simultaneously dropped throughout the city, causing annihilating fires, the transatlantic barbarians bombed the city with delayed-action high-explosive bombs which exploded at intervals for a whole day making it impossible for the people to come out onto the streets.
The entire city has now been burning, enveloped in flames, for two days.
By the second day, 7,812 civilians houses had been burnt down.
The Americans were well aware that there were no military targets left in Pyongyang…
The number of inhabitants of Pyongyang killed by bomb splinters, burnt alive and suffocated by smoke is incalculable…
Some 50,000 inhabitants remain in the city which before the war had a population of 500,000.”
[“Americans Have Forgotten What We Did To North Korea“, Vox World]
“The United States killed over 2 million Korean people in a country that posed no threat to U.S. national security.
Like Vietnam, the Korean War was just another muscle-flexing exercise the U.S. periodically engages in whenever it gets bored or needs some far-flung location to try out its new weapons systems.
The U.S. had nothing to gain in American military aggression on the Korean peninsula, it was mix of imperial overreach and pure unalloyed viciousness the likes of which we’ve seen many times in the past.”

Ron sorry I mean intelligent observer you said
“When the only true God (God of the BIble) intervenes” I suppose God was taking a nap or having a shower when the nazis was shovelling millions of his chosen people into gas chambers then? Or perhaps he used Hitler as a instrument of punishment on the Jews (as I have heard some Christians say)? But now you say he is back to interving with the Jews like he did in the good old days of Jesus and the Old Testament- cursing all humanity because Adam and Eve eat a apple, causing a worldwide flood, setting plagues on the Egyptians, impregnating a virgin in order to give birth to himself so he could die on a cross 30 years later – which would allow those humans who are stupid enough to believe this fairy tale and who would put their punishment (which they inherited -which is itself unjust) from their ancestors (who never existed) on to a innocent person so they can gain access to Jesus’s theme park in the sky.) No wonder he left the Jews in the safe and capable hands of hitler and the nazis – all those mass killings he did in the bible must have tired him out and he needed to hire a babysitter for a couple of hours. I guess he must have felt a bit bad and maybe thought he went overkill so allowed them to have their own country and even gave them a little help in wars with the followers of his Arab rival Allah. It must help him sleep at night knowing all what he does to make it up to his chosen people. At this rate they may even accept Jesus as their savouir! So maybe his blood Will cease to be on them and their children (as it says in the bible)?
When the only true God (God of the BIble) intervenes

With nuclear-armed Islamic Republic of Iran, there will be NO winner in Middle East like there will be NO winner in the Korean Peninsula if American govt. preemptively strikes the D.P.R.K. since both South Korea and Japan are within the military reach of the D.P.R.K.
Yes, America will certainly “WIN” a charred far-eastern Asian landscape after the war is over in the Korean Peninsula for sure!!!
Israeli Jews will NOT win a conventional war — without using nuclear weapons — against the Islamic Republic of Iran just like Islamic State of Pakistan can never win any conventional war — without using nuclear weapons — against India.
Even worse, Israeli Jews could NOT eradicate the Hizb’Allah Islamic militia of Lebanon no matter how many times Israeli Jews tried.
After ANY military misadventure against the Islamic Republic of Iran, Israeli Jews will pay with their last drop of Jewish blood for all historic Jewish crimes on non-Jews throughout our known history!
Israeli Jews know their historic crimes very well; so, Israeli Jews want American govt. to destroy the Islamic Republic of Iran so that all historic blames will be on American Christians forever instead of on Israeli Jews.

“You cannot watch movies or read stories without villains. ” The inventors of comic book heroes were smart enough to limit the powers of the hero. If Spider-Man was omnipotent their wouldn’t be any criminals in the first place in New York City.
“One side has to lose with broken heart. In the previous century we faced Nazism and Fascism, In this century we face Islamic terrorism.” Explain why we need Islamic terrorists? We don’t need them so stop speaking nonsense.
“Man is given the free will. ” “Free will” is irrelevant to my argument.
“He can make or mar. If you go to a prostitute you may get AIDS. If you marry four wives and have forty children you will be poor. If you watch porn material it is possible you may become a serial killer. If you follow Mohammad you may become a terrorist.” Which comes to my question as to why a all loving God created evil people who he knew would choose to cause suffering and not just wreck their own lives but the lives of other innocent people as well? They serve no purpose.
@MarathonVishall
You need to go a long way to find whether Jesus is a true God. At least you must read the Gospels of Mark, Mathew, Luke and John. If you ask questions from them, then we can answer. Have you ever thought of an Olympic Marathon runner. While training how many kilo meters he would have run to get a gold medal? How about the Hindu rishis at the foot of the Himalayan Mountain? There is a short cut for you. Humble yourself and pray to the God of the universe consistently to show you whether Jesus is a true God. The God who created you is constrained to answer your prayer.
@Steve
I have given examples to make you understand that the world is running on contradictions. You cannot watch movies or read stories without villains. You cannot watch games both sides winning. One side has to lose with broken heart. In the previous century we faced Nazism and Fascism, In this century we face Islamic terrorism. Man is given the free will. He can make or mar. If you go to a prostitute you may get AIDS. If you marry four wives and have forty children you will be poor. If you watch porn material it is possible you may become a serial killer. If you follow Mohammad you may become a terrorist.

“Similarly you will find Adolf Hitler and Mother Theresa, dictator and Lincoln, Terrorists and saints. Serial killers, terrorists are being killed. Dictators are being thrown away.” If getting rid of seriel killers andterrorists is good then why the hell did God create them in the first place and let them loose on us? We don’t need them. Even from the spiritual view they serve no purpose. They have no conscience and concern for the pain they cause. They clearly don’t spend their time on earth learning how to love and they don’t make “spiritual progress”, Their is no reason why a all loving God would create them and set them loose on us. So why would an all loving God create such people? Maybe because he doesn’t exist?

I respect you advice I should study Bible before rejecting it. But my doubts are uncleared on which Bible also silent because I asked to the priest of Church too.
If I do not accept Jesus as God I have rational thought in which Jesus does not fit as God. God is universal entity. His appearance can not be confined to a nation, language, culture. Jesus had the nationality, language and culture. God is beyond these limitations. God is universal entity. That is why it is not easy for me to digest idea of God’s incarnation, Sending prophets, and son of God.

Why you couldn’t get the clue from my reply? Why God has created Sahara desert, Arctic and Antarctic regions, fresh water and salt water, night and day, waxing of the moon and waning of the moon, fertile land and arable land, black man and the white man etc. Similarly you will find Adolf Hitler and Mother Theresa, dictator and Lincoln, Terrorists and saints. You did nothing to answer my question. What is the purpose of these criminals? They will go to hell (whatever your understanding of hell is) and create a hell right here on earth. So why did your God let them loose on us? Gods decision to let them loose on us means he is just as responsible as they are and like them he must also be a beast. (And don’t even try the “free will” response if the government releases a dangerous criminal on to the streets they are criminally responsible for that decision – regardless of whether the criminal has “free will” (whatever that is) or not.
This message is for screen-name Vishal Kumar:
Please try to remember one important thing: Christianism and Islamism where both prospered by increasing their cult-members by means of murdering non-believer males and raping non-believer females all over the world.
Ali Muhammad Amir Abd’Allah Umar Salehi ibn Sina is a Muslim by birth and a Muslim by birth in most instances cannot be much better than a Muslim by practice of Islamic, Christian, and Jewish barbarism!
One irony about Islamism, Christianism, and Judaism is Muslims, Christians, and Jews kill each other, which (i.e., the practice of killing each other) actually makes the world better for non-believers of Islamic, Christian and Jewish barbarism.
Just look at American, Saudi, Israeli military alliance against Dr. al’Assad of Syria, Dr. Mosaddegh of Iran, and Dr. Nazib’Allah of Afghanistan!
Furthermore, please try to read the histories of American Christian military terrorism by bombing people in former Yugoslavia, American Christian military terrorism by bombing people in the Korean Peninsula, American Christian military terrorism by bombing people in Asia, American Christian military terrorism by bombing people in South America, etc.
American, Saudi, Israeli alliance means a group of people comprised of Christian, Muslim, and Jewish ideologies, who want non-stop wars, because war is good profit-making business and, also, wars serve the way of maintaining Christian, Muslim, and Jewish hegemony over non-believers of Christianism, Islamism, and Judaism.
In order to understand Christianism and Christian faith (i.e., Christian falsehoods), please read from the following resources.

@Vishal
Your statement, “I have great regard for Jesus …and do not believe in the Bible” does not hold any water. It is tantamount to saying ‘I want to become a doctor but I do not believe in going to college’. If you really have a great regard for Jesus you will want to know more about him. At least you will buy a copy of the New Testament which is only about 300 pages and underline all the important versus concerning Jesus. It may take two to three weeks.
Please open your eyes wider and look at the world and judge what the followers of Jesus are doing. Please read what I have written to Mr. Umerdeen in this thread and watch the video clip of Mohammad Ajhas. Please note you will not accept Jesus unless God draws you. Jesus said “NO ONE COMES TO ME UNLESS THE FATHER WHO SENT ME DRAWS THEM (John 6:44)
@Steve
I seriously consider your statement “What purpose do the criminals, serial killers, dictators and terrorists serve? Why do we need them?”
I begin to consider not to watch a single movie among the million movies where there is villain and violence and also the war films.
Similarly I want to stop reading hundred million short stories and novels where there is villain and violence.
I want to stop watching Sir David Attenborough’s documentaries Planet Earth I & II where animals, reptiles eat one another; these are evil to the core.
I stopped going to visit Sahara Desert, which is utter a waste land.
Similarly I intend to stop my visit to Arctic and Antarctic regions which are utterly cold.
I am patiently waiting for the new heaven and the new earth (Revelation 21:1) at the second coming of Jesus where:-
“The wolf and the lamb feed together and the lion will eat straw like the ox, they will neither harm nor destroy on all my holy mountain” says the Lord (Isaiah 65:25)
“He will judge between the nations and will settle disputes for many peoples. They will beat their swords into plowshares and their spears into pruning hooks. Nation will no longer fight against nation, nor train for war anymore. (Isaiah 2;4)
Christianity is falsehood and falsehood is Christianity and Christianity has a historically similar cousin named Islam!

‘GIORDANO BRUNO
Another person who demonstrates the sheer absurdity and irrelevancy of Christianity is Giordano Bruno.
https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Giordano_Bruno
For several reasons Giordano Bruno shows us that if Christianity were true then it wouldn’t have had to resort to such a despicable campaign to silence him, with methods that we recognize today as both evil and unjust, but fervently practiced by world’s faithful Muslims.
As explained in Wikipedia:
“Giordano Bruno (Italian: [dʒorˈdano ˈbruno]; Latin: Iordanus Brunus Nolanus; 1548 – 17 February 1600), born Filippo Bruno, was an Italian Dominican friar, philosopher, mathematician, poet, and astrologer.
Giordano Bruno is celebrated for his cosmological theories, which went even further than the then novel Copernican model.
Giordano Bruno proposed that the stars were just distant suns surrounded by their own exoplanets and raised the possibility that these planets could even foster life of their own (a philosophical position known as cosmic pluralism).
Giordano Bruno also insisted that the universe is in fact infinite and could have no celestial body at its “center”.
Beginning in 1593, Giordano Bruno was tried for heresy by the Roman Christian Inquisition on charges including denial of several core Christian Catholic doctrines (including Eternal Damnation, the Trinity, the divinity of Christ, the virginity of Mary, and Transubstantiation).
Giordano Bruno’s pantheism was also a matter of grave concern for Christians, because Christians believe in only “God the Father Jehovah” and “God the Father’s only begotten Son Jesus the Nazarene Jew” and “the Holy Christian Ghost” that terrorizes non-believers of Christian falsehoods!
The Christian Inquisition found Giordano Bruno guilty, and in 1600 Giordano Bruno was burned alive at the stake in Rome’s Campo de’ Fiori.
After Giordano Bruno’s death, Giordano Bruno gained considerable fame, being particularly celebrated by 19th- and early 20th-century commentators who regarded Giordano Bruno as a martyr for science, although historians have debated the extent to which his heresy trial was a response to his astronomical views or to other aspects of his philosophy and theology.
Giordano Bruno’s case is still considered a landmark in the history of free thought and the emerging sciences.”
SO, WHAT DO ALL THESE TELL US?
1) Giordano Bruno was silenced for speaking about something that was scientifically true, while Christianity flexed its muscles to enforce Christian lies like today’s faithful Muslims do all over the world to this day!
— Christianity only exists today because Christianity silences and punishes the truth.
2) Though Giordano Bruno was tortured for many years and painfully put to death, Giordano Bruno professed his love for God and his faith right until the end.
— If Christianity and it’s predecessors didn’t destroy freethought and philosophical thinking for so many millennia then people would have figured out the truth a long time ago that almost everything about Christianity is a lie, which is exactly the case with Islam.
— Giordano Bruno was so indoctrinated that he couldn’t just keep his mouth shut, and his faith blinded him to make stupid decisions, thinking that there was a magical sky deity that would look after him and that cared about him.
3) People are misguided to think that Christianity was created and lead by loving and caring people who followed the instruction of a loving, caring deity!
— There is nothing loving or caring about torturing people for using logic or scientific innovation and then burning them to death.
— Not only is this evidence that a divine loving deity doesn’t exist, but that if it did exist then it either doesn’t care or it enjoys human suffering!
4) Giordano Bruno proves to us that by speaking the truth to believers in religion only causes them to angrily express their cognitive dissonance.
— If believers weren’t conditioned to ignore evidence and have a psychological dependency on living a lie that has been heavily force-fed to them, then believers would be able to accept the truth.
5) As we know from science and evidence, the theories and envisioning of the cosmos that Giordano Bruno had, when proven later by science, proved Genesis in the Bible to be false!
— Genesis, like most everything else in the Bible, is shown to be scientifically and historically false.
6) If God is as Christians believe, then Christian God Jehovah watched all of this happening, knowing Giordano Bruno’s theories were correct, but did nothing to change the minds of his accusers.
— God was the witness sitting in the court room who had exculpatory evidence that would have set the criminal free, but simply sat there in silence as the Christian God Jehovah watched the innocent person sent to the stake.
In conclusion, the history of Giordano Bruno proved:
(1) The Jewish and Christian Bible to be unscientific!
(2) Christianity to be morally bankrupt!!!
(3) A supreme moral and caring Christian entity to be nonexistent!!!
In the final analysis, this is just another demonstration of how Christianity is not only false, but a force for ignorance, evilness, and intolerance just like its cousin Islam.

@Ali Sina
I have great regard for Jesus. But I am not a Christian and do not believe in Bible. I do not accept Jesus as God but a great human being came of earth. Where do I stand in your view point of view? If I do not accept Jesus as God I have rational thought on this in which Jesus does not befit. God is universal entity. His appearance can not be confined to nation, language, culture. Jesus had the nationality, language and culture. God is beyond these limitations. That is why it is not easy for me to digest idea of God’s incarnation, Sending prophets, and son of God.
@ passive observer. Thanks for sending that link. It was indeed awesome and encouraging. I am glad to see christianity spreading in the region where I was born.
I am really glad that you have accepted Jesus as your Lord and Saviour. It doesn’t mean you will have a trouble free or Pain free life. For some, more trials can fall on them. Nevertheless the consolation factor is that Jesus will be with us right through our life, whether we are in prison or paralyzed in our old age. He will carry us through. The reality is that Satan rules the world, Jesus rules in the hearts of those who have accepted Him. Jesus said “The coming of the Kingdom of God is not something can be observed … because the Kingdom of God is in your midst (hearts)” (luke 17:20-21) St. Paul Said “Do you not know that your bodies are the temple of the Holy Spirit who is in you” (1 Corinthians 6:19)
Since you are an ex-Muslim you are in a better position than us to be a witness to Christ, just as Ali Sina. Keep fasting and praying for your family. Acts 16:31 says “Believe in the Lord Jesus, you will be saved – you and your household” Please build up your faith and prayer by watching ‘Christian testimonies’ in the You-Tube. Mohammad Ajhas’ testimony from India is wonderful. Please relax and enjoy. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Z6O_Ho-1EqA
@ passive observer, thanks for your reply. That was very good of you. I have already accepted Jesus Christ as my Lord and Savior as my best bet. I have not been baptized or attended any church services. Going forward I just want to get some re-inforcement and sometimes even challenge God to send me some feedback. I am an ex-Muslim, and Jesus Christ has offered me a very attractive path, but it was not due to any sacrifice or effort that I made. Even after accepting Jesus as my Lord and Savior, I do believe good and sincere people from other religions can also go to the kingdom of God. This last sentence is a dilemma I have: Is Jesus the only way, and that is why I want some feedback, but I understand this is not an easy answer. I went from being a muslim born, to ex-muslim, to a theosophist, to a agnostic, to becoming a disciple of Jesus. Everyone around me including my immediate family is a practicing Muslim. Having travelled the world during my working life, I cannot but feel for the less fortunate people irrespective of their religious orientation. I have been blessed to migrate to USA, and USA has changed my life. After 9-11, and my personnel experiences when I used to live in India and now in USA, I have finally turned to Jesus Christ.
It is very interesting that you talk about the christian NGO’s all over the world. I was schooled in a catholic school in India, I still remember vividly the day the principal of the school (a beautiful looking nun) smiled at me. I have not forgotten that smile ever and I pray for her even today. And during my cricket playing days in India, my best knock of 55 runs when playing a practice cricket game in the St Thomas ground in India was very unique and special. I had a very serene and supernatural feeling going through me and I played my best strokes in cricket ever. This feeling was like a nirvana, and I did not even enter the St Thomas church overlooking the cricket ground. It never ever occurred to me that one day I will remember these two events during my school days in India until I began to accept Jesus Christ in my latter life. Yes, the most progressive and living religion on earth is Christianity and that is why I accepted it.
@Umerdeen,
I could see that you are a humble and blessed person, seeking the true God and have come to this site. I would say prayer is very important. When we confess our sins (that includes stealing sweets at home) and ask pardon from God then changes take place in our hearts just as a rudder changes the course of a ship.
I was a nominal Christian, just followed my parents’ religion but after I came to know through this site that Mohammad was not a good role model for humanity that caused me to analyse the Bible several times particularly the New Testament.
It is very strange that you ask “Which God is effective?” even after knowing that millions of Christian oriented NGOs including hundreds of thousands nuns are working in 190 countries, making the world a better place to live in; and about 130 Christian majority countries are living in peace at least in comparison.
I am not forcing you to accept Jesus because Jesus said “No one can come to me unless the Father who sent me draws them” (John 6:44), but as you said “My life is limited so I want to accept God now” I suggest that you read the New Testament at least ten times. There are people who read forty times before accepting him.
I have read NT many times and noted down the following ten important versus that have changed my life.
1. Jesus began his three year ministry after reading his mission statement. Please read Luke 4:18. He also gives a reason why he came into this world : “I have come that they may have life and have it abundantly” (John 10:10)
2. Without the knowledge of sin we cannot lead a good life. Have you wondered why men rape women and unnecessarily kill them? Jesus says “Verily I say unto you everyone who sins is a slave to sin” (John 8:34)
3. We know people run away from home after having sex with in-laws or neighbours. Only Jesus is more harsh with men ‘I tell you that anyone who looks at a woman with lust has already committed adultery”(Mathew 5:28)
4. If we want peace we should work for justice. Note Jesus’ choicest words “Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness they will be satisfied” (Mathew 5:6)
5. Humble leaders have less problems in their leadership. They do not get hot under their collars. Jesus washed the feet of his disciples “Since I your Lord and Teacher washed your feet you also should wash one another’s feet. (John 13:14)
6. Every homicide or murder has a beginning with harsh words. Jesus wants to nib it in the bud. He said “Whoever says ‘You fool’ will be liable to hell of fire”
7. Most problems will be solved when we start loving others, even the enemies “A new command I give you ‘As I have loved you must love one another. By this everyone will know that you are my disciple” (John 13:34-35)
8. If we can understand the background of our enemies and forgive them our life becomes a noble one. Jesus prayed at the cross for his murderers. “Father forgive them for they do not know what they are doing”? (Luke 23:34)
9. How to measure justice? Only by the Golden Rule that Jesus taught “So whatever you wish that others would do to you, do also to them, for this is the law and the Prophets (Mathew 7:12)
10. We have desires to do lot of things but we fall in the race of life due to temptations. Jesus warns us “Watch and pray (sometimes all night) that you enter not into temptation. The spirit indeed is willing but the flesh is weak” (Mathew 26:41)
Have a look at this exspeciall the circumstances in which it was written

What purpose do the criminals, serial killers, dictators and terrorists serve? Why do we need them? We don’t need them they cause misery and make a hell right here on earth. If a God created them and let them loose on humanity then he also must be a criminal terrorist guilty of crimes against humanity.
Ali Sina, the famous sentence: the reason your prayer or wish was not accepted is because God has something better for you in the long run is used universally, irrespective of which religion he/she belongs to. Most of the time the conversation ends with this statement or God knows best. Does this mean; prayers are meaningless because God knows what is in our heart. So why even pray ? Which God is more effective or influential for the human beings. Most of us just follow the God our family worships. Do we have to choose the proper God for our prayers to be answered ? I know that many atheists, or humans from any religion can be successful in this world and lead a fulfilling life. Is the Christian God more effective than other God’s ? I want to challenge the very existence of God, so he can send me a message and give me some confirmation. But I am also afraid that my life is limited so I want to accept God now as an insurance policy so when I die I am covered either way. How does Jesus or Muhammad, or Vishnu or Buddha fit into all this ?
