Bijapur, the city of Monuments :
Bijapur is a small city located in the northern part of the state of Karnataka, in southern India . It is 613 km from Bangalore and 486 km southeast of Mumbai. In medieval times, the city was once the capital of the Adil Shah dynasty (1489 to 1686) and it's charm lies largely in the architectural legacy of those days. The building called the Gol (circular) Gumbaz (dome), built in 1659, is the chief attraction of the city and: is the mausoleum of Mohammed Adil Shah (1626-56), his two wives, his mistress, one of his daughters and a grandson. Another spot of tourist attraction are the edifice called Ibrahim Roza, which is also a beautiful structure. It was constructed at the height of Bijapur's prosperity by Ibrahim Adil Shah II (1580-1626) for his queen. The Jam-E-Masjid, constructed by Adil Shah (1557-80), is a building with graceful arches, a fine dome and a large inner courtyard containing fountains and a reservoir.
The other important building, called the Gagan Mahal, is also an exhibit of beautiful architecture. This palace was built by Adil Shah I to serve the dual purpose of royal residence and the Durbar Hall, or the seat of his government. The building called Sat Manzil was the seven story palace of Mohammed Adil Shah , while Jala Manzil was his another palace. There is another piece of tourist attraction, big cannon called the Malik-E-Maidan. Cast in 1549 by Mohammed-bin-Hasan Rumi, a Turkish officer, is one of the largest guns ever made in medieval times. It measures over four meters long, almost 1 m in diameter and weighs over 55 tones. Hardly 5 km away from the city, there is another tourist spot called Satth Kabar (Sixty Burials) that bears the memory of a very tragic incident
Afzal Slew his 63 Wives:
Afzal Khan was the most powerful General or Sardar (Lord) in the court of the Bijapur Sultanate. He was responsible for many victories for Adil Shahi. In the year 1658, when Ali Adil Shah II of the Shahi dynasty of Bijapur was preparing to launch a military campaign against Shivaji, the indefatigable Maratha ruler. Being constantly under pressure from Auranzeb on one side and Shivaji from the other, Adil Shah depended on his generals to stall the enemies, and counted General Afzal Khan among his most trusted warriors.
Though Afzal Khan was a brave man, he had but one weakness: auguries and omens. Khan contacted astrologers who predicted doom – death at the hands of the Maratha soldiers. At that time, Afzal Khan had 63 wives in his harem. Fearing that his wives would remarry after his death, the anxious general chose to kill all of them. Some say they were pushed into a deep well, while others say that all the 63 unfortunate wives were slain by Afzal. The astrologers proved correct, for Khan did die at the hands of Shivaji at Pratapgarh.
However, his wives lie buried just 5 km from Bijapur at a place now bears titular testimony to the uxoricide – Satth Kabar ( 60 graves). Ironically, the tomb built by the general for himself, who wanted to be close to his wives in life and in death, stands adjacent to the one-acre burial ground surrounded by jowar fields. The site has now been declared to be of national importance under the Ancient Monuments and Archaeological Sites and Remains Act 1958, and is under the jurisdiction of the Archaeological Survey of India (ASI). Today, the tombstones are scarred by graffiti and people often come to the shady spot for rest. “People need to hear the heartrending stories that cry out from these graves”, says the 65 year-old man who lives in a nearby house.
How Afzal Khan died:
Afzal Khan was aware that Shivaji was on PratapGarh and he planned to lure him and bring him down to the plateau of Deccan where he could destroy his forces. Khan's strength was his giant force. At that time he took with him a force of 12000 soldiers, many cannons, troops of elephants, horses, camels, etc. Which was more than enough for the Shivaji's newly established 'Swarajya'. In comparison, Shivaji's men were very few in numbers and the Khan was aware of this fact too. That's why he tried to bring Shivaji out in the open plains where they could be destroyed in few hours time in an open battle. Shivaji's men in comparison were masters in the type of war, now known as 'guerrila war', where you surprise the enemy with a sudden attack causing heavy casualties and retreat quickly after the encounter. So Shivaji tried his best to avoid a direct confrontation in an open field.
But to compell Shivaji to come down to the plains, Afzal Khan started demolishing the temples. His idea was Shivaji would not tolerate such insult of their gods & goddesses; and immediately he will come down to fight with him in an open battle. But he found out that Shivaji did not come to fight. He also destroyed the prestigious temple of Bhavani Mata . But it was discovered later that the original statue of Bhavani Mata, under the advice of Shivaji, was removed and kept in a safe place by the localites in advance and Afzal Khan could have destroyed the fake one.
Failing to lure Shivaji coming down to the plains, Afzal agreed to meet him at Pratapgad, a fort near the town of Satara, a location which was strategically advantageous for Shivaji's infantry. For that arranged meeting, a large tent was set up at the foothills of Pratapgad. It was agreed that the meeting would be unarmed, and each man was to bring ten personal bodyguards, remaining one arrow-shot distance away. Both were prepared for treachery: Afzal hid a kataar, a small and sharp dagger, in his coat. Shivaji wore armour under his clothes, and carried a weapon called bagh nakh ("tiger claws"), consisting of an iron finger-grip with four razor claws, which he concealed within his clenched fist.
As the two men entered the tent fixed for meeting, Khan pretended to greet Shivaji with a hug, and stabbed Shivaji in the back with his kataar. However Shivaji, due to the armour under his coat, was saved. Shivaji opened his fist and disemboweled Khan with his Bagh nakh. Afzal managed to hold his gushing entrails and hurtled outside, faint and bleeding, and threw himself into his palanquin. But Khan was decapitated by one of Shivaji's bodyguards shortly down the slope. Sambhaji Kawaji and Jiva Mahala, two of Shivaji's bodyguards, were instrumental in protecting their king from Afzal's bodyguards.
According to another version, on reaching the tent, Shivaji requested Afzal Khan to send his bodyguard Sayyad out of the place. As per the agreement, no one was to be present when Shivaji met Afzal Khan.

When Shivaji penetrated the tiger claws into Afzal Khan's abdomen, injuring him fatally,.Sayyad Khan entered the tent, running to his mater's rescue. Just when Sayyad Khan was about to kill Shivaji, Jiva Mahal, a body guard of Shivaji, slashed Sayyad Khan, saving the life of his master.
Shivaji sped towards the fortress as his lieutenants ordered a bugle to be sounded. It was a pre-determined signal to his infantry, which had been strategically placed in the densely covered valley. All of Shivaji's generals, including his Senapati ("Army chief") Netaji Palkar launched a surprise attack and routed Afzal Khan's army. Afzal Khan's son managed to escape with help from Maratha generals including Khandaji Khopade, another blunder committed by the Hindus. The severed head of Khan was sent to Rajgarh to be shown to Jijabai, Shivaji's mother. She wanted vengeance for the Shahaji, Shivaji's father, in his captivity by Afzal Khan, and for the death of her elder son, Sambhaji, who was killed by Afzal Khan.
Sultan Ibrahim Drowned his 280 Wives:
Ibrahim I was the Sultan of the Ottoman Empire from 1640 to 1648. He was born in Istanbul, the son of Sultan Ahmed I and was unofficially called Ibrahim the Mad (Turkish: Deli İbrahim) due to his unstable mental condition. However, Ibrahim was one of the most famous Ottoman Sultans, succeeded his brother Murad IV in 1640. Murad had ordered his three other brothers executed. Ibrahim I was allowed to live because he was too mad to be a threat.
Ibrahim is known to have had an obsession with obese women, urging his agents to find the fattest woman possible. A candidate was tracked down in Georgia or Armenia who weighed around 330 pounds (137.4 Kg) and was given the pet name Sheker Pare ("Sugar Cube"). Ibrahim was so pleased with her that he gave her a government pension and (allegedly) a governorship. At that time, Ibrahim had 280 wives and concubines in his harem. But when he heard a rumor that his concubines were compromised by another man, he decided to kill them en masse. Ultimately, all the 280 members of his harem were drowned in the Bosporus Sea .
Eventually, Ibrahim was deposed in a coup led by the Grand Mufti. There is an apocryphal story to the effect that the Grand Mufti acted in response to Ibrahim's decision to drown all 280 members of his harem. But there is other evidence to suggest that at least two of Ibrahim's concubines survived the mass murder. Ibrahim was ultimately strangled to death in Istanbul.
Idi Amin of Uganda :
Idi Amin Dada Oumee, commonly known as Idi Amin, was a Ugandan military dictator and the president of Uganda from 1971 to 1979. Amin joined the British colonial regiment, the King's African Rifles, in 1946, and advanced to the rank of Major General and Commander of the Ugandan Army. He took power in a military coup in January 1971, deposing Milton Obote. His rule was characterized by human rights abuses, political repression, ethnic persecution, extrajudicial killings and the expulsion of Asians from Uganda. The number of people killed by him is unknown. But an estimates from international observers and human rights groups says that it ranged from 100,000 to 500,000. After the fall of his regime in 1979. Amin fled to Libya, and finally took political asylum in Saudi Arabia in 1981, where he died in 2003.
Idi Amin officially had 5 wives (many believe that the actual figure was much higher), one of which he had killed and dismembered to show her children what happens to someone who does not obey him. He is said to have over 34 concubines and many mistresses in his harem. Many believe that he was suffering from STDs, syphilis being one of them. He also had over 20 some children. More importantly, Idi Amin used to refresh his harem regularly by executing the old and condemned wives and inducting new and younger ones. Many of us might have seen the heartrending reports in news papers in 1970s, how the security guards led the wailing victims to the place of execution through thousands of onlookers. But the government of Saudi Arabia , by providing asylum to such a cruel killer, has made the world understand that, Idi Amin had not committed any serious crime or insulted Islam by killing his wives. At that time, some journalists reported that Idi Amin was a cannibal and he used to taste the flesh of his executed wives.
Conclusion:
From the above discussions it becomes evident that the status of women in Muslim world is worse than domestic animals. In Arabia , during the Prophet’s times, an Arab could confine his wife in a room and kill her slowly by refusing food and water to her. Even the authors of the Arab Human Development Report 2002, have categorically mentioned that women are not considered as full citizens in the Islamic world. And this oppression of women is one of the major reasons for the worldwide backwardness of the Muslims.
There is another point to be mentioned in this context. It has been said above that, Afzal Khan killed his 63 wives as he was afraid that, after his death, other people would marry his wives. There is no doubt that Prophet Muhammad was in the grip of a similar fear and due to this reason he forbade remarry for his wives, after his death.

Shivaji was very generous king. The same afzal had in past captured Shivaji's father Shahaji by treachery ( not uncommon of pigs ). Afzal and Shahaji were generals in Bijapur court. He swore and claimed friendship with Shahaji and in the night when he was sleeping, he captured him by the order of the Bijapur court. Shivajis's elder brother was trecherously killed by Afzal. After having such bitter enmity between them, after Afzal's death, Shivaji in respect of enemy general, build a tomb at the base of Fort Pratapgad and yearly gave money for maintainance.
Now the bastard pigs there are having yearly urus ( procession ) there in his name. Illegally extending the tomb and renedering him as Martyr saint.

Islam is the worst crime to humanity. Unfortunately initially afghanistan hindu kings allowed muslim merchants to settle down in there cities and do business, they provided all intelligence to the coming armies of the muslims. In earlier battles, hindus defeated the muslims, but unfortunately they have not followed them further.
Unfortunately muslims are full of treacheries, whenever they won, they killed all males above puberty and made all women and children as slaves. The places near Indus, Ganga and Kaveri in south were having an advanced civilization, with self sufficient economy, art, music, sculpture etc.
The present condition of western europe is similar to hindus prior to muslims,they dont want to go to war and lead a peaceful life with everybody, BUT muslims are coming to there countries( Europe and America) and they are going to bite them too hard.
First because of muslims , economy will suffer, welfare schemes will be turned upside down, then they will blame there poverty and problems on western hosts, rioting will happen, infidel women will be raped as its the birthright of muslims.
The Hindus never thought that such barbaric criminal gangs will come out from arabia. The hindus were too benevolent. One Rajput king, gave hospitality and shelter to humayun and Akbar was born there. The same Akbar killed millions initially and the women of chittorgarh did self-immolation instead of being slaves of muslims. Let's have a more balanced view of women in Islam in the subcontinent:
- Afzal Khan's antagonist Hindu Sivaji also had multiple wives. It was a common practise among Hindus then, and there was no limit on the number of wives. In addition Hindus could also have concubines. In Islam only 4 legal wives plus concubines and slave women..
- It was a prevalent practise among Hindus to burn alive all the wives when the husband died. A very brutal treatment indeed!

It was indeed a very brutal treatment and this practice came into the Indian society during the Islamic Invasion. These were mainly practiced by Rajput (Fighter) queens from being raped by Islamic invaders. And even veil custom also came in Practice as a result of Islamic invasion. There were so many Bad practices started as a result of Islam, which pushed back Indian society 1000 year back.

The last such community became so ashamed of polyandry and outlawed it about 60 years ago, in Kerala state.
- History of Sati is very old and predates any Muslim invasion, as it is mentioned in many Hindu holy books. Please read up and learn. Hindus not being self confident to accept resonsibilities and ashamed of their own customs are only too eager to tranfer the blame over to others. Veil comes from Muslims though.
- Kings of Vijaynagar empire had thousands of wives and thousands were burned alive upon kings death.
- In modern India also women are considered as a burden in the families. So they are killed off even before they are born by millions every year, after identifying the sex of the fetus. Hindus have replaced sati killing of women with the high tech abortion killings.

Polyandry has been practiced at high level and well documented in Mahabharata. For more details one needs to consult with an Indian. Polygamy and Polyandry both are bad practices and were widely practiced throughout the world(Latin America, Africa, Asian continent etc). In today’s world these practices would not be more than prostitution, It does not matter if one tries to justify it by the marriage in certain religion. Indians are more than confident in accepting it as a bad practice and thus do not Practice it any more. This is something, which is important in civilized society.
As I already wrote in my other comments, no society was perfect, the important thing is to accept it and take the counter measure to prevent the bad practices from happening. Sati custom was indeed a very bad practice in India, however it was very limited (you have entire Mahabharata and Ramayana period) but after the Islamic invasion Rajput females had committed group suicide by throwing themselves voluntarily to save themselves from mughal invaders.(Not because they loved their husband very much and could not lived with them) this was something new.
It does not matter if you are Muslim or non Muslim, these were your ancestors who were responsible for those practices. In my View the kingdom of Chandragupta Maurya was the best governance in the Indian society, Females were having equal right, sex education were openly taught (Kamasutra), it had got International universities of that time and so. As an outsider when I look into these things, this country should have far ahead of western society. But always remember, a society can not progress if it leaves women behind, this is something which had happened after Islamic invasion when females were sent behind the veil. I have seen that even now it has been practiced in some remote villages of India . So Just do not try to argue just for argument sake and justify the present wrong religious practices of Islam by comparing it with past wrong practices in other societies.

Islam the world's greatest religion?
From the very beginning Muslims have used the Quran to invade and conquer territories, kill, rape, and commit other atrocities. If Islam is such a great religion then how come it has inspired it's adherents to cause so many atrocities. And in regards to Muslims killing in self-defense, Jesus is a prophet in Islam and Jesus who was persecuted taught peace. If Jesus taught peace and to turn the other cheek, then Muhammed should have taught something better instead in taking part in warfare. Besides if Islam is suppose to be the greatest religion, then how come it's adherents live in dire poverty and a high mortality rate, produce so few scientists, it's adherents constantly battling each other and blowing themselves up, creating problems in countries where Muslims are the minority, and exc.

rockymeranaamhai, you can investigate islam yourself from your own quran/hadith or from neutral sources. It's meaningless if you search it at islamic website because of the propaganda there. Look at the history of islam and the condition of the muslim world. Try to look at the reality. If you want to know the truth about some company's product you would ask to neutral party not the marketer of that product.

Thanks for the web link. So far I have also read / heard of these things from anti Islamic website. But after going through the said Islamic webpage it is very clear that Islam does promote all the non humanitarian things.
Before finding the answer of “they”, first you should find the “Cause of God or Allah”. Few cause may be listed as Poll Tax on Non muslims, Discrimination to non muslims(can be seen in true Islamic countries), for the same crime different type of punishment for different sect of People ie for Male, female, Muslims, Christian, Jews, etc., Destruction of religious places of other sect etc etc. in order to spread the Islam.
So if people oppose these discriminatory rules or unable to pay Poll Tax than Islam allows of “slaying them wherever they catch them”.
Rest thing you could find by yourself.

I am a muslim myself, never been a fundamentalist, and believes in the tolerance between all religions. I guess if I try to defend Islam against all allegations listed in this website, I would not find a listening ear amongst you guys. Therefore, let's talk science and scientific approach to writing the articles and examples listed:
Is taking Idi Amin a good example to judge Islam??? If this the case, I wonder if Hitler would also fit (like other dicatators from different religions) to judge Christianity to which I hold great respect.
Talking about wars led by Moslem in its early ages, well didnt all religions pass through hard and rough times trying to spread the words by their prophets??? What about the dark ages when Christian countries were ruled by the church and men of science burnt at the stake. Shouldn't we be more objetive and scientific about judging a religion based on the behavior of some of its followers or a country based on the behavior of some patriots or a whole family based on what a member of it does???? According to my teachings and all people around me, Islam was never about killing people above puberty and raping women. I am a Moslem and all people I know are too, I dont know where this came from!!!! Unless you claim there are truths about Islam that we Moslems dont know, which is "absurd" (Forgive me for this). However, the horrific act of killing males above puberty and raping women was indeed practiced in many civilizations, including christian Europe, that are very far from Islam.
My advice to you my dear friend and to all of your participants/viewers is that you should be tolerant to Islam and try and educate yourself about it, and anything in life, before judging it. People around the world should seek and reach for things that unite them not start allegations that are offensive to each other such as cursing countries, ethnic backgrounds, or religions. This act of attacking other faiths and claiming "erroneous" historical facts to be true, is very offensive and is somehow comparable psychologically to the killings and subduing acts that you claim were performed by muslims in the past.
Finally, I hope you exercise an open mind and rise above your hatred to Islam while trying to judge it by the true literature and refernces and the educated Muslim world and Muslim scientists (spread all over the Americas, Europe, Arab World etc..).
