She, Rouwaida, was singing to the tunes, beautifully I may add. What a beautiful young lady. What a beautiful voice. I said to myself: “surely she will win the Arab Idol competition for the year”. That was a couple of years ago. You see, people love to sing. Regardless of language, and ethnic background, we, humans, have an innate “thing” that makes us love singing and music. But with all her great talent, she did not win the top prize for that year. She came in second. I think the reader, will understand my surprise when she did not win the top prize once you watch her sing. One does not have to understand the language to appreciate a good talent. Here is a link below. The older gentleman singing also in the video is Wadee' Al-Safi; a pillar of Arabic music for the last sixty plus years or so:
As I told you, I was listening to one of her beautiful songs on utube when my mind wandered to the Talibans and how they want to impose the barbarity of Sharia Law and prevent people from simple pleasures like singing and music. How much justice is there in preventing a beautiful voice from singing? ..and my mind wandered to the man who started it all, Muhammad, the most famous of all warlords of all time. Was he a just man? The question repeated in my mind and I had just read what he said about the Jews, and an incident that happened because of what he, Muhammad, said. I present the reader with what the prophet (PBUH) said, and what happened to an innocent man, who happened to be Jewish, because of that:
Dawud, Book 19, Number 2996:
Narrated Muhayyisah:
The Apostle of Allah (peace_be_upon_him) said: If you gain a victory over the men of Jews, kill them. So Muhayyisah jumped over Shubaybah, a man of the Jewish merchants. He had close relations with them. He then killed him. At that time Huwayyisah (brother of Muhayyisah) had not embraced Islam. He was older than Muhayyisah. When he killed him, Huwayyisah beat him and said: O enemy of Allah, I swear by Allah, you have a good deal of fat in your belly from his property.
Sirat-page 369, states:
The apostle said, 'Kill any Jew that falls into your power.' Thereupon Muhayyisa b. Mas`ud leapt upon Ibn Sunayna, a Jewish merchant with whom they had social and business relations, and killed him. Huwayyisa was not a Muslim at the time though he was the elder brother. When Muhayyisa killed him Huwayyisa began to beat him, saying, 'You enemy of God, did you kill him when much of the fat on your belly comes from his wealth?' Muhayyisa answered, 'Had the one who ordered me to kill him ordered me to kill you I would have cut your head off.' He said that this was the beginning of Huwayyisa's acceptance of Islam. The other replied, 'By God, if Muhammad had ordered you to kill me would you have killed me?' He said, 'Yes, by God, had he ordered me to cut off your head I would have done so.' He exclaimed, 'By God, a religion which can bring you to this is marvellous!' and he became a Muslim.
My mind, while still listening to Rouwaida singing, raced to construct the events...kill the Jews...Muhayyisa jumped over a Jewish merchant and killed him, just because the latter was Jewish, and Muhammad decided they should be killed. Muhayyisa owed some money to the Jewish merchant, so he killed him instead of paying back his debts. How nice? How fair? How just? Ibrahim Hooper would be jubilant to hear about the Islamic fairness in this story. Siraj Wahhaj will possibly write a lengthy article to tell us the good deeds of the Muslim man in the above story, and the wisdom of the prophet of Islam. And, again, the cult mentality of a brother willing to kill his blood kin just because Muhammad says so, is very present.
Thinking about that made my heart saddened. There are so many victims in Islam. Muslims are its first victims. But a bright light is coming through the internet. No one can stop it, not even the most evil and most determined of Muslims can prevent the truth from reaching to the end of the earth. The light of sites like Faithfreedom.org, Islam watch, The religion of Peace, Apostates of Islam, and many more, are the beacon that shines and never fails. With the internet accessibility, the whole world will know the truth about Islam and its evil Prophet.

But for gals who convert to islam...it still remains a mystery to me. To be honest I don't know. Lets take it initially at face value that they are attracted to it.

For muslim men, there are endless bounties on offer and I can see why people in the those ages followed mohammad. Not only then, even now in european prisons, we can see the same thing getting repeated. Criminals are getting converted to islam because it is a religion made for criminal men.

Hi,watching that video brought back memories of saudi arabia.islam or no islam arabs love music.This should be understood by all.i don't think they are bothered about what muhammed says,even the saudis.when you go to the middle east you will realize they have dozens of arabic music channels on tv.Most of the songs are centred around eyes,heart,love & tragedy.Few are downright fun.guys look up for nancy ajram on u-tube,u will fall in love with her.She is a lebanese christian.
All marriage parties in saudi arabia have dance.The males go in circles singing, with a lead singer singing from the sidelines accompanied by a person beating a drum like equipment.i heard the girls have a separate party(we are muslims u know) where they really freak out.Remove islam the arabs are fun loving people.

I feel music is second nature to any human being. Every culture has its own music.You fell so humbled when you see music videos of different cultures & languages.Even if you don't understand a bit of it, you can merge with the rhythm,body language & music.It is humbling. You know, I enjoy songs that i don't understand. there is an innate thing in us humans to love music and singing. I grew up in the middle east. Arabic is my mother tongue. Here is another song I enjoy from Tunisia. They sing in Arabic. I understand words here or there, but I do not know what the guy is talking about. its a happy song. but I probably can communicate with those people in English better than their "Arabic" thats for sure:
