I think Sebastian Faulks has not read Quran carefully and he does not seem to have read the Bible intently. The message of Jesus, Moses, Krishna and Muhammad was the same as their source was the same God Allah YHWH.

All human beings are just like one family; no one amongs them is to be hated and every one should be convinced with the peaceful teachings of Quran.

Rigveda Book I, Hymn 53 verse 9:
The Sanskrit word used is Sushrama, which means praiseworthy or well praised which in Arabic means Muhammad (pbuh)
