The word 'God' doesn't exist anywhere in any religious book in its original language. Yet many people blindly believe that the name of Islamic God is Allah (Arabic) but the name of Christian God is God (English)!

These gullible people do not know that 'God' is not a NAME of any Supreme Deity. It's a generic term. In fact, the word 'God' is a misnomer and one can also play mischief with this word. For example: it can be masculine, it can be feminine, it can be singular, it can be plural, etc. Even by flipping the letters of the word 'God', one can make it 'Dog'! That's why Muslims prefer not to use the word 'God' to mean the Creator of the Universe.

Original Sin

As we all know many Christians believe in the doctrine of Original Sin, that all humans are born with sin, and that we are basically stained from birth. Much like some other Christian beliefs, the doctrine of Original Sin has no real basis within the Bible, and is merely an invention by the Church, much like the Trinity and divinity of Jesus. The doctrine of Original Sin defies logic, rationality, and common sense either. It's also an unethical belief. Humans are not born with sin! It's simply ridiculous. Original sin doesn't even spare the new born babies as it teaches that ALL humans are born with sins, naturally this includes babies and children!

Anyway, Jesus himself never preached the doctrine of Original Sin. Even the Bible itself speaks against this doctrine (Ezekiel 18:20; Matthew 18:1-4). That's why the Quran has rejected this kind of unethical and irrational doctrine that has nothing to do with the true teaching of Jesus (Quran 17:15, 6:164).

Thereafter in 13 years till Muhammad died in 632AD he had married more than 9 women including his own daughter-in-law, Zinaba. So Qur'an states that Muslims can have upto four wives. Evidently, Had Khadija died after Muhammad he would not have married again and would have directed Muslims to be monogamous for life. A muslim will NEVER accept the fallability of Islam, it has been drummed into their ears not to do so, despite tons and tons of evidence. But if a muslim, thinking rationally, reads all the relevant articles on this site ( esp. those by Dr Ali Sina), he or she, on balance, has to come to the conclusion that Islam is false and what Dr Sina asserts is right.

This is a thought provoking article. I think Muslims need to break away from political Islam. Living In Pakistan I have always thought that why are we being filled with so much hate about India and Hindus in general. Its basically the Mullah, clergy and muslims who tend to play along for these clergy. If it was not for Political Islam the sufi minded Muslims of south asia would have gelled very well and infact created a stronger India which would have benefiited Muslims of the sub continent as well. We blame India for everything. They have given Muslims top posts in their country and even their celebrities are Muslims. One or 2 incidents there and we justify creation of Pakistan. Here in Pakistan where our forefathers were Hindus we pleasure in calling them napak and for all purposes they have been relegated to second class citizens so that they can understand virue of Islam and become first class citizens by accepting it. Shameful.

I will accept as a Muslim that I have no answers to these questions. At the most my reply would have been to elaborate qualities of Islam and links to moderate authors who talk about peaceful verses and Character of the prophet.(PBUH)

However, will caution that such articles will only make the clergy more poisonous. I feel whatever happened in Mecca and Medina in those days was more related to Arabic and Tribal culture. Muslims just want to ape everything related to that primitive culture and therefore criticise their own moderate culture. A good example will be my relatives in India who just can't see qualities of Hindus beyond idol worship.

The question Muslims NEVER ask themselves is this. If Islam is so perfect, WHY should it have ANY faults at all? If it is truly from the Creator, the truth should be as clear as daylight and far surpass and dazzle anything else? It should be so clear that nothing should be able to contradict it. In the same way that we all know that daylight is from the sun and not from say planet Jupiter. Thus only a fool would claim that daylight comes from Jupiter, not so?

Therefore it should NEVER be necessary to use the lame and tired arguments of "bad translation from Arabic" or "quoted out of context", not so? To do so only proves how weak these arguments are.

Islam is a rote, dead political/social slave camp for the lame of brain. Christ offers relationship through reconciliation because of love. Islam is the farthest ideology from love. The only issue with any religion is when it is politicised. Christians, Jews, Hindus and everyone at some point will be guilty of violence and that is when they mix religion with politics.

In absence of mature comments and remarks you show your own grey matters.

As I said earlier if Islam breaks free from Political Islam It might be just where other religions are. Prophet(PBUH) just followed the rule of the land. The answer to all the questions above is that he was amongst tribals and becoming an angel at that point of time might not have helped Prophet(PBUH). However following his footsetsp in ditto is no way good thing for modern Muslims.

The basic tenets need to be picked up which are same in all religions. God is One which is the same in Jews and Christians and even Hindus and also Buddha(Allthough he never mentioned God) .

This stupidness of attacking someone's faith is only going to create more stupidness. I feel the article might be thought provoking as no sane person will like to behave with other as asked in questions. However, the comments are simply childish.

Where in the Islamic world are Muslims educated and cultured? Educated and cultured Muslims are generally found in western countries, where they are educated by western standards. Otherwise Muslims living in Islamic countries are backwards, poor, illiterate, and receive their education from the Madrassah.

Marie, The western world is a self styled teacher. Nor did they became civilised overnight and neither have they left racism from their blood alltogether. The treatment to Gandhi and Mandela in south africa are good examples. The killings in jallianwala bagh in India by General dyer is a good example of western culture.

Most of the Muslim extremists are currently coming out of western world. Having said that I will not deny that west has a sense of humour, they are good human beings. They broke away from their church a long time back and came out of their dark ages which Muslims might not be able to which is what is their pit.

Let me give you an example of some of the western standards. In srilanka they left a permanent divide between the tamils and Sinhalas. Both of these communities are not Muslims. Today the mass genocide of Tamils(Hindus) is happening at hands of peaceful Buddhists. But whose standards left this scar?
However I will accept that even though India is a Hindu country it has not opted to favour Tamils(Hindus) one sided. This is because of politics and religion not being mixed.

Let me give you another example. India and Pakistan. The Hindus and Muslims in this sub continent could never be identified as seperate for a long time even during british period. Who left them divided and kashmir as an issue?

The treatment of Red Indians in US, Treatment of South americans by spaniards, Killing of Indians by portugese in Goa, algeria and france, Indonesia and Dutch.

You must be kidding Maria. The educated modern Muslims are like Ex Indian president Abdul Kalam, Indian Muslim celebrities and movie actors. I just wish they were Pakistani. But they are not from West.

Yeah but they were not educated in Muslim countries. It seems only in nonmuslim countries, Muslims are able to flourish and that was the point I was making.

Marie, India has been a Muslim country in the past and it has very large number of Muslims.

Also, they do flourish in Muslim countries and get educated as well. Its only that you want to feel supreme in showing Muslims down.

Marie, dont take me wrong here. My point is simple. Politics and religion mixed are a lethal combination and that is what might make Muslims look fundamentalist.

Let me give you an example. Jesus was a fun loving wine drinking priest, Krishna of Hindus was a fun loving propeht but who caused a great war, Buddha was a prophet of Buddhists who renounced everything even his child and wife.

Now drinking wine, causing a war or leaving his family is only one aspect of these prophets. Now tell me isn't this website only taking one aspect of the Prophet Mohammed(PBUH) .

Its only political Islam that Muslims need to shy from and not Islam.
