++ The above verse refers to the historical context in which the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) fought against other nations. The Prophet Muhammad did not initiate agression against anyone, rather he and his followers were under attack from all who sought to crush the new Islamic state. In light of the historical context of this verse, it becomes very clear that the verse was revealed in connection with agression initiated against Muslims.

I Say-------> Even if for sake of argument if we accept that the verse refers to its historical context and that the verse was revealed at a time when muhammad was at war. Doesnt it contradict its own stand that quran is a guidance for all times. If it contains some passages that may be treated as historical, then this itself renders the quran insignificant except for purpose of reference. Further if allah is all knowing, all powerful and merciful, why would he reveal some verses that command muhammad to violence when peace was far better option.

Pretty much all muslims I have debated, whether traditional or reform, have accepted the Koran as the 'word of Allah'. This guy seems to be saying that it is the word of Muawiya and Banu Umayya and Banu Hashim.

I find it odd that Muslims (and the Koran) simultaneously claims that the Koran is perfect, a clear guide to mankind, for all time etc, AND that Muslims claim that it contains verses that need their "context" explained by extra-Koranic sources, "abrogated" verses, verses that only applied to Mohammed, or at a certain time or place, or under certain conditions.
To me this looks like a case of "having your cake and eating it".

No, mr Truth, not all terrorists are Muslims, in my life I heard, read about plenty of terrorists from other religions, or about those terrorists who had no faith at all. Indeed, Islam may not be worse than other religions or no religion in having bad causal effects on behavior of followers. Islam even may not have any bad influence at all, and the causes of all detrimental behavior by Muslims may even be completely different from Islam.

But are we in FFI really out to prove Islam is a fraud? Out of some hate-motivation?

I like us to consider very well what the position and ambition of Islam/ Muslims is in the current world. We in FFI study the situation in the whole world in relation to Islam and Democracy. And we see or think to see an ambition of a part of the Muslims to let Islam dominate, rule over followers of other beliefs or no belief. In FFI we have plenty of articles that show us that a part of the Muslims use violence and intimidation a lot, in order to ensure that Islam has and keeps much more power, influence, intimidation-possibilities than the other religions in Islamic countries. Disproportionally extra and arrogant, without fair elections.

The other religions, atheism seem almost all content to abide by democratic rules precisely because they don’t want the burden of proof to be qualified for disproportional arrogant power. They submit to whatever 51 % of the people decide every 4 years. But what extra right does Islam have to rule arrogantly disproportionally extra without fair elections?

And FFI has the potential to map this power-situation of Islam versus other religions and atheism out completely and comprehensively. So even if governments are not Islamic, it can still be true that Islam has disproportionate extra power.

What if it is proven to be true that Islam has and wants much more power than it would be entitled to have under a worldwide democratic system?

I think that we then can charge Islam with the burden of proof for it being qualified to have disproportionate extra power, it must then prove having a beneficial influence on its followers and its subservient countries that outweighs what any other religion can do. Islam then has the burden of proof especially to show if it is more able than the other religions to stop detrimental behavior in its followers, especially those in powerful positions.

This describes my motivation to prove Islam is not the truest and most beneficial religion or movement on Earth.

Look, first and foremost it is the power that Islam, or so-called Muslims, unjustly and arrogantly exerts that I am concerned about, only then about it's truth. I happen to believe that Jehovah's witnesses' belief is not true, but there are only approx. 7 million of them, so what's the point in disputing them?

But we claim that in 57 countries Islam is arrogantly keeping power disproportionally extra. As a result, in these countries there is a lot oppression of minorities and women. Conversion from Islam into other beliefs is prohibited and often punished with death, jail, high intimidation. Churches and temples are often not nearly sufficiently allowed, not in proportion as Mosques are allowed in democratic countries.

Now this can be examined and proved by FFI, Daniel Pipes, Jerusalem Post, and many websites. And this is a huge, maybe the main contributing factor for the hate and the criticisms and shame and ridicule posts Muslims are now facing.

If you are serious about that many Muslims and governments and organisations in Islamic countries are not following true Islamic teachings, then:
- Muslims, please divide and decide on democracy or theocracy as future intention of the world. And be honest about it. We hear even the Muslim Brotherhood of Egypt wants power through fair elections.
- Muslims, in democratic countries, what are you going to promote: A. Theocracy in Democratic countries, thereby taking away the freedom of their citizens? Or B. Democracy in Islamic countries, actually diminishing power of Islam to the proportion that it deserves there, to the benefit of followers of all other beliefs, freedom of speech, autonomy of women, constitutional state, human rights.

Because Muslims are now only combating the effects of their own choices.

Muslims are reminded about Prophet’s last sermon at Masjids, Imams lectures. Many Muslims print posters of the Prophet’s last sermon and distribute copies of it. Many hang it on the walls of their houses as to remind them of the Prophet’s final Admonition.. Though the Prophet’s soul has left this world his words are still living in our hearts.

Quite agree. But how many "isolated incidents" are required to form a trend?
If the trend is unique to a group of people how reasonable is it to ascribe the behaviour / trend as being part of their cultural make-up?
If the culture is shown to be pan-racial and / or pan-national, how reasonable is to look for some other unifying factor in the lives of all these people and to ascribe the behaviour to that?

Hardly!
Mathematics works by a set of well known and identified rules that work and apply consistently. Mo seems to have made them up and changed them at will.
eg. "There is no compulsion in religion" (K2:256) then "Whoever changed his Islamic religion, then kill him." (Bukhari9,87,54).
This is like saying 2 + 2 = 4 one day and then 2 + 2 = -4 the next!
