The Last Dance

Printer-friendly versionPrinter-friendly versionSend to friendSend to friendPDF versionPDF versionBy Sher Khan (Re-Post: Preiviously published on 2006/04/30) I am not good at dancing. However, sometimes I do attempt to amuse myself with this complicated body act. As it happened during the last New Year’s Eve, after drinking a few glasses of special beverage that Allah promised in the heaven, I was throwing my hands and legs in all directions. Later, the host who arranged the party in his house confessed he had to move some of his collection of rare artifacts that were dangerously close to my feet. I barely missed them. I really did not intend to dance that night but it was the provocative song that no one could resist. You should listen to this song as soon as possible and then you would realize what I am talking about. Here’s a part of the lyrics of the song (Mambo number 5!, Artist-Lou Bega): “Jump up and down go and move it all around Shake your head to the sound Put your hands on the ground Take one step left and one step right One to the front and one to the side…..” So far so good, I was doing fairly well up to this point without breaking any valuable items. My other friends were also dancing in an articulate fashion along with their wives. However, my mind took an abrupt turn with the next part of the song. “A little bit of Monica in my life a little bit of Erica by my side a little bit of Rita is all I need a little bit of Tina is what I see ……” By all means, I am not a playboy and I should not have dared to be one when my wife was dancing with me. There was a likelihood of my manhood being chopped. Amid the clamor of music, my imagination took a defiant flight thinking of Mohammed, the guardian of Islam, singing the song somewhat differently. “A little bit of Khadija in my life a little bit of Zainab by my side a little bit of Safyia is all I need a little bit of Moyomuna is what I see a little bit of Sawda in the sun a little bit of Hafsah all night long a little bit of Ayesha here I am a little bit of you makes me your man.” It’s a fact that Mohammed had almost two dozen wives and a few concubines as a bonus. His number of wives varies from 11 to 23, depending on different Islamic scriptures. There is no record of Mohammed dancing with his wives but who knows what he did in his barrack. After all, he was a cunning politician and politicians have the record of doing things privately that is opposite to what they preach. I admit it was a fantasy; Mohammed could not have danced or sung any song. “Be merry” is a forbidden word in Islam. Quite the opposite, Muslims are designed to “Be gloomy” because of the scare of hell, the scare of Allah’s fire and the scare of the judgment day. Muslims are not permitted to dance, sing or draw a picture of any living things. Ironically, Muslims love ‘Bollywood’ movies that are full of dancing, and the Middle East is a hot market for these Indian movies. India has a beautiful cultural heritage, full of dance and music, which melodiously shifted into the movies. It’s true, some of the movies go overboard with dancing, and there are more dances than dialogue. Nonetheless, Sheikhs and pious Muslims watch these movies with their glittery eyes but restrain themselves from dancing. The recent best selling thriller The Da Vinci Code, written by Dan Brown, has sold over 40 million copies worldwide and has created uproar in the churches. According to the author, Jesus married Mary Magdalene and had children. It may not have caused the commotion if the theory was limited to fiction. Apparently, the idea of Jesus being married has been floating around for a while despite churches’ objection and calling it blasphemous. (And, of course, no church was burnt and no author was killed.) Anyway, Dan Brown was accused and later sued for plagiarizing the thought from another research book, The Holy Blood and the Holy Grail. Brown even acknowledged the accusation and boldly commented, “That’s how you incorporate research into a novel.” It does not matter whether Jesus was married or not. I would not lose sleep over the issue. The Bible, the holy book of the Christians, showed no interest regarding Jesus’s marital status, but the Quran gave Mohammed a blanket permission to marry as many as he wanted, along with the authorization of accepting the concubines at a discounted price. I am not arguing over their holy books, which is a completely separate issue, but what really intrigues me is the mindset of two groups of people. Christians love Jesus as much as Muslims adore Mohammed, yet Christians are embarrassed to think that Jesus had one, and only one, wife, whereas eclipsed minds of the Muslims cannot see the ugliness of a person sleeping with 23 women. Muslims are aware of Mohammed’s sultry passion for women and apologists of this cult often make excuses to conceal the flaw of their prophet. The most commonly used, and the best possible, defense that they present is so astonishing that it should be added to the agenda of “Ripley’s believe it or not”. Muslim apologists argue Mohammed married women from different tribes to create relationships with them and expand the sphere of Islam. Just one example would suffice to blow apart their house of cards. Mohammed had to make a strategic retreat from his first attempt of invading Mecca and was forced to make a humiliating settlement – the ‘Treaty of Hudaibya’. Evidently, Mohammed’s mercenaries were deprived from possible looting. So, with an intention of robbing, he decided to attack the Jewish tribes who settled in Khyber after being expelled from Medina. It was an unexpected attack and the innocent people of Khyber did not get a chance to defend themselves. According to one of Mohammed’s companions, “We met the workers of Khyber coming out in the morning with their spades and baskets” (Sira, 757). Although Muslim apologists put the burden on the Jews, claiming a defensive war for the Muslims, they refuse to admit that people don’t attack with spades and baskets. Even the people of the Stone Age used to fight with spears made of stones. After the massacre, “The women of Khyber were distributed among the Muslims” (Sira, 758), and Mohammed chose Safiya d. Abul-Huqayq, the newlywed wife of the tribe’s chief. Mohammed took her to his bed after a brief pretense of a wedding. Perhaps, if the thesis of Muslim apologists is correct, Mohammed must have tried hard to build a bridge between Muslims and the Jews of Khyber. The only problem was that none of the relatives of the poor girl Safiya were alive. Ibn Ishaq reports in Sirat Rasul Allah, “Abu ayyub, Khalid b. Zayd, brother of B. al-Najjar, passed the night girt with his sword, guarding the apostle and going round the tent until in the morning the apostle saw him there and asked him what he meant by this action. He replied, ‘I was afraid for you with this woman for you have killed her father, her husband, and her people, and till recently she was in unbelief, so I was afraid for you on her account’” (Sira, 766). If the marriage between Mohammed and Safyia was meant to develop a relationship with other tribes, I don’t know how Mohammed could have made friends with the deceased people, especially with those whom he killed! It’s human nature to seek revenge when a loved one is killed, and the people of Khyber were no exception. Centuries later, Shylock, a character of Shakespeare’s master piece “Merchant of the Venice” rightfully grumbled, “Hath not a Jew eyes? hath not a Jew hands, organs, dimensions, senses, affections, passions? fed with the same food, hurt with the same weapons, subject to the same diseases, healed by the same means, warmed and cooled by the same winter and summer, as a Christian is? If you prick us, do we not bleed? if you tickle us, do we not laugh? if you poison us, do we not die? and if you wrong us, shall we not revenge? If we are like you in the rest, we will resemble you in that. If a Jew wrong a Christian, what is his humility? Revenge! If a Christian wrong a Jew, what should his sufferance be by Christian example? Why, revenge! The villainy you teach me I will execute…” A Jewish woman, Zaynab d. al-Harith, put poison in a roast lamb that was offered to Mohammed (Sira, 764). The Muslim who took the first bite died immediately; however, Mohammed only had a morsel of the meat and he survived. Still, it must have been a deadly poison because Mohammed suffered the rest of his life because of the poison. He even admitted, “O Umm Bishr, this is the time in which I feel a deadly pain from what I ate with your brother at Khyber” (Sira, 765). Unlike “The Last Supper”, Mohammed indeed danced “The Last Dance”  - not joyfully but because of the pain. Ibn Ishaq records, “Then the Messenger of God’s illness intensified, the pain became fierce, so he said, ‘Pour seven skins of water over me from different wells so that I may go out to the people and instruct them.’ Aisha states: We made him sit in a tub (mikhdab) belonging to Hafsah bt. Umar and poured water over him until he began saying, ‘Enough, enough’” (al-Tabari, 1801). I don’t enjoy making fun of a dead person, specifically someone who died with such a pain, but it’s about time to clear the fabricated impression created by Muslim apologists. They have changed the history and altered the truth, they have turned a monster into an angel, and they have succumbed to lies and deception. Had Mohammed been a historical figure and remained as a shrewd warrior, we would not have to worry about him. Sadly, innocent Muslims perceive Mohammed as the symbol of a perfect human, mentor of morality and the role model to follow. It’s fascinating how a person who snatched women and slept with them after killing their loved ones could become a paradigm of morals and ethics!

very interesting adaptation,

very interesting adaptation, Maybe some one with good music background could sing it and post it.. i would like to keep this as my mobile ring tone to spread the knowledge about terrorist, paedophile, misogynist mohammad..

I think that Profit Mo's

I think that Profit Mo's strategy was to increase the mulim population. So with many wifes, muslims can make more soldiers for concuring other nations.

Sex & islam go hand in

Sex & islam go hand in hand.Byproduct ---- more muslims.win win situation for islam!!!!!!!!

Didnt the prophet(pbuh) bring

Didnt the prophet(pbuh) bring unity amongst the savage Arab Tribals.

He probably brought out the best amongst one of the worst people of his times. Suppose you get a chance to lead a group of dacoits, will love, emotions, dance, music, art make any sense to them.

And that is the dilemma of being a prophet(PBUH). He could not have led these people like other prophets did. He brought peace to these warring regions. Are these aspects worth considering?

Also, please consider the

Also, please consider the words that killing of an innocent is like killing of entire humanity. If the misguided muslims do not follow this verse then how is the prophet(pbuh) resonsible for it?

Wasim, brother "Not all that

Wasim, brother "Not all that glitters is gold". Friendly Muslim apologetics make nice evil things. Here is an authentic hadith where the prophet attacked a tribe for no reaon at all. He did not invite them to Islam. They were not a threat to him. he just attacked them. Killed the men. Enslaved the women and children, and raped the women. Here it is brother:
Bukhari, 3:46:717
Prophet had suddenly attacked Bani Mustaliq without warning while they were heedless and their cattle were being watered at the places of water. Their men were killed and their women and children were taken as captives.

Now, that very night, he "married" one of the women and slept "raped!!" with her. He had just killed her husband, brothers and all adult men of her extended family.
So, please Wasim, think about this and many other evil things the prophet did. Facts are sometimes hard on the heart. It took Sina himself two years to leave a religion he grew up with. It is not an easy thing. But one has to be honest to his humanity and his consciousness. Take care brother.

Wasim, After reading all

Wasim,

After reading all these (I guess you might have read other articles as well), what made do you think that he brought peace? Prophet did inhumanity things like he fought 78 wars, raped women, killed so many, robbed, adultery, insulted, slavery etc etc ... I don't think that someone should/ have to do all these nasty things just to bring peace. For whom, he is trying to bring peace? Is it for women who were been raped and their family was killed? Is it for people who were been looted? Is it for JEWS who lost their ground?

I never heard from someone that people are worst at Prophet Mohammed's times. I never heard that people used to fight among themselves. Certainly, I heard that Mohammed killed so many. If people are wrong and if Mohammed wants to bring peace then fighting 78 wars and killing them is not peace right? He killed people means he doesn't have any value to humanity, right?

Its you Wasim who is in Dilemma not Prophet? His plight is for his own benefits not for people. He used innocence people and made them to believe him and Islam.

One thing, you should accept that 80% of muslims in the world are forced to accept islam and you could be one of those. Take India as an example, so many brahmins/others were converted forcibly to Islam and killed so many when muslims ruled the country.

We all are humans and one human should see other as human not like kafir. Till you see a human as Kafir, you will never find peace in you or anywhere in the world.

Still, we all pray for you to find peace.

..(Ref. Post 4) from Wasim

..(Ref. Post 4)
from Wasim the , Weasel

There is no evidence to suggest that the Arabs were ever savages. The savagery is in the sadistic cruelty and wanton lust that Mr. PBUH personified.

It was Mr. PBUH who forbade Dance, Music and Poetry. And he turned a joyous freethinkers into moronic robots.

And what peace and unity you are talking about? Are you genuinely ignorant of the history of the Shahabas or just practising Taqiyya for fun ?

Take your own advice and

Take your own advice and answer your own rhetorical question, Mr. Weasle!

Let me quote from your own post ( No. 5)

"If the misguided muslims do not follow this verse then how is the prophet(pbuh) resonsible for it?"

To be Muslim is to be misguided , no matter what chapter and verse you follow.

WASIM, Tell me one good

WASIM,

Tell me one good reason why any human shouldn't dance or sing?

HUMAN is THE BEST of all beings in the universe. You, me and everyone are lucky that we didn't born besides human. When you are the BEST, then you should do BEST till you die. You should enjoy every moment of your life. Who knows that we will reborn as humans or we will get stuck in hell.

Even if you go to hell like Allah said and enjoy 72 virgins with wine then some day you will get bored. You cannot live with all happiness all the times. Unless you don't know what is sad you will never be able to know what is HAPPINESS. So, probably you will end up being SAD after few days in HEAVEN despite providing all facilities by Allah in heaven.

THIS IS WHAT WE DON'T WANT

THIS IS WHAT WE DON'T WANT FROM MISSIONARIES. THEY STILL DO IT; WHEN RESISTED THEY MAKE AN UPROAR ON FREEDOM OF RELIGION.

Hindu Resistance against Conversion - All 17 accused acquitted
01/02/2009 10:50:06 HK

Kozhikode: A court in Kozhikode on Saturday acquitted all the 17 falsely accused in the case relating to the attack on a group of Christian conversion activists at a colony in Mambazhakkad Meethal, Olavanna in the district in 2004.
Fast Track Court judge Dharmarajan acquitted all the accused, all of them RSS-BJP workers, on the basis of the Prosecution's failure to prove the crime. Hindus in the area resisted the conversion activists including a foreigner Bernard and some Nuns.
Both Congress and CPM tried to accuse Hindu organisations for their defencive actions and created uproar over the issue then. Kummanam Rajasekharan HAV leader told that the findings of court which lead to acquittal of the accused is a stern warning to all those campaigned over the issue to give a communal colour.

The Foreigner Bernard who was engaged in conversion activities were clearly violating the law of land as he was only in a visiting visa. He fled the state immediately after the Hindu resistance action in the area. The other so called victims also were not ready to cooperate with investigation as they were aware of their illegal actions. They were transferred to far away convents by the Church authorities in Kozhikode.

Hey you people, lay off

Hey you people, lay off Wasim. Can't you see he is a good and nice guy from his posts? He is debating and searching for satisfying answers. Did he insult you? Of course not. So why are you insulting him? If you are angry because of islam, then take it out on the one who deserve insults ie AMINA.

(4. Wasim Says: Didnt the prophet(pbuh) bring unity amongst the savage Arab Tribals.)
Yes he did, Wasim. But then so did Gengis Khan amongst the waring factions of the mongolian tribes. Once they were united, they concured one third of the world. But he didn't start a religion. So after his time was over, we have peace. But Mo started islam and the war never stops. There may be truce but only till muslims get strong enough to start trouble.

(He probably brought out the best amongst one of the worst people of his times. Suppose you get a chance to lead a group of dacoits, will love, emotions, dance, music, art make any sense to them.)
I disagree; he organised the worst people and channeled their hatred and greed outwards against the other countries; just like Gengis Khan. Love emotions, dance, music, art will only bring out the humanity in us. It will make Mo's soldiers soft. Thus he banned all this.

(And that is the dilemma of being a prophet(PBUH). He could not have led these people like other prophets did. He brought peace to these warring regions. Are these aspects worth considering?)
Again, just like Gengis Khan.

Wasim, regarding "Killing one life is like like killing the whole world" or something like that: If you read the Quran closely, that verse is actually addressed to the Jews; "the children of Israel".

Cheers

Islam prohibits any form of

Islam prohibits any form of art- dancing, painting, singing etc. Yet, modern history books teach that under Islamic Mughal rule, all these arts flourished. If we do a search, we find that there is not even a single Islamic school of dancing or painting or singing then and even now. Singing and dancing has been the family custom of many Hindus. When families were forcibly converted to Islam, the succeding generations continued practising all these arts, even though it was against Islam. Sitar comes from Sanskrit word (Sapta swara -- 7 melodies); tabala, drums etc are still a part of Hindu, Buddhist, Sikh, and Jain marriages and functions in India.

Wasim Muhammad brought the

Wasim

Muhammad brought the waring tribes together???? They were not warring tribes. Infact they had very sacred codes which they followed. They did not even nattack each other during the sacred months of Shaban and Ramadan. They did not even stop any one from making Hajj. Not a single pilgrim was ever hurt.
All these traditions were detroyed by Muhammad.
So to say that he united the Arabs is incorrect. He merely used them to further his interests.

Wasim the verse you refer to

the verse you refer to was for the jews and not Muslims. go and read the entire verse and then come back.
