There is not a single book in this world that contradicts itself at one or multiple places. However when a book is claimed to divinely ordained from the so called creator of this Universe, I guess certainly should not contradict itself in the least. While the quran is quite contradictory, the first thing that puts me off when I go through the quran is its boring literary style. So Amin is back to her monkey tricks. Just for the benifit of the Forum I will refute this person who calls himself Amin ( though I am sure its a she and not he, so should write Amina)

Okay let us refute Amin logically

What Amina here has done is a case of a major logical fallacy called Ad Homenieum. It means justifing one's actions on the basis of some else actions. For example if some one were to kill 10 people and say that his neighbour killed 3, his crime is not less pardanoble. This wont in stand in a court of law.
I hope all of you got it, except ofcourse Amina.

2. Textually

All the verses that Amina has posted might be correct, however, the point is that these verses were written by scribes almost about the same time the OT was being written. So its predates the Quran by almost 5000 years.
In any case all of these verses were composed by bards, who composed verses in the honor or praise of their kings. This was a very common thing in all cultures. These verses are just relating events that took place at a particular time.
Wherever they are true or not, no1 will ever know because t\scribes in those days would go over the top in order to please their kings. These guys must have done the same.
These verses are in no way binding orders on Hindus which are to be followed word for word. They are merely historical texts today which are merely read only by scholars.
In any case the Hindus then as now dont claim that these books were divinely ordained. Anyone reading these verses will get to see that there are no open end commands as is the case in the OT, asking Aryans to kill all the melachas.

In any case, there was nothing called Islam or Christianity in those hence the whole mokey buisness of Hindus being told to kill muslims is hogwash.

Futhermore, Amina believes that these verses are created by Humans and donot come from God ( if god exists in the 1st place) hence by what moral authority is she using a book which she believs is nonsesne and created by humans.

The Quran contains contradictions because it wasn't revealed from God in the first place. Instead, Muhammad simply conjured up verses to suit his whims and fancies.

It's like the South Park episode "All About the Mormons?" in which they make fun of how Joseph Smith (the Prophet of Mormonism) just made up revelations. But Mormons don't threaten to kill anyone who makes fun of their religion, so it was easy to make that episode. Muslims on the other hand are extremely violent, so they haven't done an episode on how Muhammad simply made up the Quran--but the principle is the same.

There is no command on the usage of tobacco on the Qur'an. The Arabs were not aware of something called tobacco. However some of the schools use a few verses from the Qur'an out of context inorder to tell people that it is haram to smoke. However the point is that it all depends, I mean if the ruler of Saudi Arabia like tobacco then tobacco will be haram. Most schools including the Hanafis, which most Indian muslims follow cosider tobacco as something that is not good, however there is no ban on usage of tobacco.

There are various things that are not neccesarily Haram or halal. Some things fall in categories inbetween.

As to tobaco, i think there is a verse in Quran not to allow harmful substances into the body. Hence some muslims say tobacco is haram.

Sorry proudkaffir, but I have to disagree with you about the alleged effect of male circumcision on the brain. Even ex-Muslims like Ali Sina, Ibrahim and myself were circumcised when young by our parents and we were given no choice in this matter. I, if given a choice, would have preferred to have a say in this.

However I am sure that on reflection you will agree that this has had no effect on our brainpower. Look at the Jews who practice circumcision - this has had no effect on their brains judging by the number of Nobel laureates produced by them.

It is the poison of Islam that has this effect on the brain. Discard Islam and suddenly the mind clears and you can now begin to think clearly and logically.

I dont think that there is any verse like that in the Qur'an. The only verse that is there is which says that donot kill yourself with your own hands. This verse was told by Muhammad when had to go for Jihad and he left Utman and Abu Bakr in charge. This verse actualy meant that these two should not overload the converts with religious obligations, such that they don't develop a dislike for islam.

I know that circumcising is not a very good practice, as it leads to the loss of valuable tissues and I had a choice at the time I was circumcised, I would have said no. However I never had the choice but to undergo the Khatna.
Several young children loose their lives due to blood loss that is incurred due to this medevial practice. Many Muslims still invite the barber to do this procedure as they believe that going to a doctor and getting a child self circumscised under medication is not Sunnah.
Many kids contract infections due to this stupidity of their parents.

Coming to the fellow who has commented here about qran not being understood properly, i do have a few observations.99.9% of Non arabic moslems do not know or understand/ read arabic leave alone kafirs( i am a kafir who can read and write arabic!)
