The former Yugoslavia was engulfed by many civil wars and during the mayhem and carnage it is clear that radical Islam built “a new bridge.” This “new Islamic bridge” was built on foundations which had already been built in Bosnia. However, the 1990s enabled this potent force to enter other areas and to gain ground throughout the former Yugoslavia and this notably applies to Bosnia, Kosovo, and Macedonia.

What brought you here?:

In 2001, one would-be shoe bomber forced millions of travelers to take off their shoes. In 2006, terrorists planned to bring down aircraft on transatlantic flights by smuggling liquid explosives onto planes. They were thwarted but they succeeded in preventing passengers from bringing liquids into airline terminals.

 

What brought you here?: 
It's an ironic situation when the grand narrative of U.S. official strategy is that we are fighting terrorists in Afghanistan and beyond, so that our defense perimeters are thousands of miles away.
